Went to elementary school with a kid named Jack Goff. (real name Jack, not a nickname for John). As a kid, I couldn't figure out why adults found the name so amusing.

Our last name is Wong and when I was pregnant I had to be very careful about the names I picked...no Ivanna, Harry, Meahnna, Lotta...we used to crack eachother up soming up with names that wouldn't work!!!
My DBFF was just telling me about a horrified co-worker who just had a grand-daughter named BONG!!!! Her dead beat babies daddy told her if she named the baby BONG he would stay with her....stupid teenagers!!!

I remember my grandmother telling about one of her co-worker's along time ago had a daughter and they named her Crystal, thier last name was Ball. Crystal Ball, LOL

My boyfriend's mother's name is Ione! It's super close

My grandfather's name was Sindel, he went through life hating his name and it was constantly misspelled- the icing on the cake is that the monitor in his hospital room on the day he died even had his name misspelled. The joke was that the guy who made the headstone better get it right.

I think what contributed to my grandfather's disdain for his unique name is the fact that his younger brother's name is Alan

At least we are sure that we will honor his memory better by never naming our children after him (it's a Jewish tradition) because he wants every child to have a nice, simple name (his three children- nancy, amy, mark)

Ohyea- my mom works in a hospital with a Dr.Doctor... she giggles when they page him (but that's not his fault)

I grew up in the LA area, and went to school with a Beverly Hills and a Holly Wood. My DH knew a girl named Summer, and she had 3 sisters named Spring, Autumn, and Winter! Strangely enough, they were all born in their respective seasons. However did the parents manage that?

My DD is 7 and there is a boy in her class whose name is Baby (pronounced with a long a sound)
