Strange CM behavior

I went to Magic Kingdom tonight and decided to ride Small World. I went alone to the park and since my family refuses to ride it, I thought it would be a great opportunity to ride without my family making fun of me. Anyway there were these 4 teen or college age guys on the boat with us and they kept singing loudly and clapping and hooting and hollering all through the ride. Then near the end of the ride, they started chanting "U...S...A! U...S...A! U...S...A!" It was completely annoying and really ruined the ride for a number of people.

After we got off the boat, the CM handed these 4 guys complimentary fast passes for any ride in the park for their "enthusiasm." I was just shocked! I certainly think Castmembers should share the magic but sharing with four guys who essentially ruined the ride for everyone in the boat with them was just not what I expected.

(Posting here because I'm afraid I'd get flamed on the Disney forums.)

BTW, Pirates was great. It was actually an improvement. I was worried because I loved the old Pirate's ride but it was very well done.

Rewarding bad behaviour!! Wonderful! :confused3

I loved being on Space Mountain with some enthusiastic youths overdoing the screams, but on IASW - I would have pushed them in the water! Wonder if I would have got a fast pass for that!

I would have been annoyed also. I was young once, but Disney is a place where you should feel like you are not at the Jersey Shore having to deal with all that.

I hate it when I'm on a ride and a group of people ruin it for others. I was in Disney Land riding It's a Small World, was in the back of the boat, and these people in front of me were just talking thru the entire ride. Why the freak are they even on the ride if all they're going to do is talk?

I'd e-mail the park and say obnixous behavior is not appreciated.

Cedar Point has an indoor coaster, and for some reason, people think it's funny to scream thru the entire ride. I wrote the park asking them to put up a sign telling people they're not funny.

I would have went with you! I love that ride! (Please don't tell anyone that ;) )

I certainly don't agree with rewarding people like that. If I were you, I would have requested a fastpass as well. Compensation for ruining MY ride. I'm not a fan of Small World, but find the river ride at Epcot in Mexico is just enough Small World for me.

Last week we encountered a person who ruined our ride on the Magic Kingdom train. First of all, she had herself spread out across half of the aisle and acted like she did not want to move over to accomodate other guests. My husband asked her to move and she reluctantly did. The entire trip she made sarcastic comments to the prerecorded message you hear as you continue the journey on the train. She made comments such as "no kidding" and "You are a little late. We passed that ride 30 seconds ago." It was completely annoying. Why do people even bother to come to a park if they have such an attitude?

I was very worried that my fav ride, Carousel of Progress, would be ruined by inconsiderate people. Nobody in the theatre was rude or annoying. Everyone seemed to enjoy the ride.

I'm now at Universal. My enjoyment of the Shrek preshow was ruined. Behind me was a 4 year old voice that kept screaming "Daddy, pick me up! I can't see". "I can't see!" "I can't see!" This child whined the entire preshow. All I wanted to do was start screaming, "I can't hear!"

I don't expect everyone to sit quietly with their hands on their laps through an attraction. at the same time, I don't want to ride with a vehicle full of idiots.

the majority of the time you ride an attraction, there's someone, somewhere in the vehicle riding it for their first time. don't ruin the experience and don't reward those that do.

BTW, phamton and mom of 3, you can have our seats on small world any day. ;)

I'll go on Small World any day with you. My family thinks they are too cool for just about anything in MK, except Pirates.

I can't believe somebody would reward poor behavior like that. I can only suppose that the CM was of a similar age as the obnoxious patrons that she would find the humor in their rudeness.

For sure I would have asked for one too... and if it did not work... go see someone that would listen... you can be sure they ruin an other ride for someone else.. they were on a roll... To bad for those kind of people... I mean I'm all for having fun, but please respect the others around you!!!! :sad2:

Annoying teens at Disney? Can't be!!!!!

remember, if there are, they're locals. people on vacation to WDW from out of state have the most polite kids in the world. ;)

That reminds me of when we rode The Land. I really enjoy that "ride" and last time we had this couple behind us who NEVER SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I enjoy listening and learning something once is awhile. They were so rude!!! I came REALLY close to asking them to PLEASE BE QUIET!!!! but I didn't want to start anything with anyone because that might/could have ruined the ride even worse, ya know????
It's so annoying!!!!!!!!!!!

I get so bored on that ride. I took my DBF on it a while back because he said that he had never rode it. Well, I kept telling him that it wasn't much and he would be bored, but he loved it! :confused3
