Strange CM behavior at MVMCP

We were at MCMCP on 12/12 and were trying to get picture with some of the Country Bear characters. The handler/escort CM kept getting very irritated with the characters as they kept wandering off interacting with the crowd. She kept yelling at them, "Miguel, get back here!", "Kevin I need you over here", etc. I didn't think they were allowed to call characters by their real names. She kept doing this over and over, in front of all the guests. Does anyone else think this is a little odd?

I didn't even know that there were bears named Miguel and Kevin :rotfl2:

Just kidding - that CM wasn't doing her job right.

:confused3 Foreign exchange bear maybe? :lmao:

Yeah that CM must have been having a bad day... should definetly get their name and report them to guest relations :thumbsup2

At least thats better than yelling at the guests! When we were there in June we saw a couple CMs get irrate with handicapped guests who misinterpretted there grunts and points and went the wrong way trying to get in line.

Did I not read (maybe even here at the Dis', that CMs have multiple name tags, and are always using made up names :confused3

What a magic spoiler!! I would definately take the time to report what you witnessed to someone at Disney. If you didn't catch the CM's name you could describe where you were and the approximate time that it happened. I would be so upset if I saw something like that.

Maybe that's why the bears were misbehaving, they didn't know she was talking to them.... :lmao:

ITA.

While CM"s do use other nametags (if you forget your nametag, managers have extras on hand just in case, or sometimes people like to switch for fun, so Suzie is Sally and Sally is Suzie) the managers almost always will have it written down that they are wearing a replacement tag. If it is done on the sly like that switch, then I would be that once the *real* Suzie was in trouble for something Sally did while wearing her nametag, she'd dime the other one in.

I would definitely report something like that - to Guest Relations, but I would also have asked for the Area Manager. Give a time, date and physical description. Someone tracked me down that way once when I was a CM (to give me a gift, not report me, lol)

Definitely a magic spoiler. Unless there are bears named Miguel and Kevin. ;) Disney is always expanding. pirate:

Not true.

It is true...but doesn't apply to characters.

A cm must ALWAYS be wearing their nametag...so if they forget it, there is a bin of "extras". I was Marilyn for a long time...haha.

I also would have reported this to guest relations.

I was "Sunny" when I forgot mine. :)

It's not true. None of the 'regular' CMs we know use false names. Only if they forget their own badge do they use a name other than their own. Central Reservations CMs, on the other hand, DO use false names.

That is what I stated in my post...that when a CM forgets their name tag, they must pull from a bin of extras...If your name is in there, they give it to you, but if not....

Honestly we felt that all the CM's l;ast week were a little off. We had trouble with the country bears at the MVMCP as well. They kept ignoring the guests.

I wouldnt take the time to report on someone for this....I guess I just dont get it :confused3
