Morning, everyone. Sorry for being MIA on Friday but this relentless heat finally got to me and I banged in sick. So here is Monday's edition, with a few dedications.
This first one is dedicated to our friend of "fluff" EROS......
Australian, Graham Barker, extracted his own belly button fluff every day for 18 years acquiring a record breaking amount of fluff. He hopes to accumulate enough fluff to stuff a pillow. (Now that's a lot of picking)
For Deb in IA............
When the Hoovers did not wat to be he overheard by White House guests, they spoke to each other in Chinese. (Pretty clever, in my opinion)
For our Canadian friends....................
Toronto was the first city in the world with a computerized traffic signal system.
The University of Calgary offers a two-day course in igloo building.
Edmonton, Canada was the first city in North America with a population of less than 1 million to open a Light Rail Transist System in 1978.
In 1967. the IMAX film system was invented by Canadian, Ivan Grame Ferguson, to primere at Expo 67. (Aren't our friends to the North smart?)
The patent number of the telephone is 174465 (Maybe we should all play the lotto today)
In 1631 two London bible printers accidentally left the word "not" out of the seventh commandment, which then read "Thou shalt commit adultery." This legendary book is now known as the "Wicked Bible." (YeeeHaaa)
1/3 of Taiwanese funeral prosessions include a stripper. (I'm not sure I want to know why)
107 incorrect medical procedures will be performed by the end of the day today. (Considering all the procedures being done I guess that's not a bad number.)
The metal instument used in shoe stores to measure feet is called a Brannock device.
The woman who appeared on the most covers of Time magazine is the Virgin Mary, 10 times.
And finally........
The raised, refelective dots in the middle of highways are called Botts dots.
I threw in a few extras this morning to make up for Friday. Have a great day.
