Strange bathroom layout at BCV

We are members at BWV and just returned from 1 week at the BCV. They were really nice, but.... I thought it had a strange bathroom layout compared to BWV. Too many doors and I almost killed my husband coming out of the toliet area while he was at the sink. It seemed like the bathroom was bigger at BWV. But, I could be wrong, the last time we were "home" was last December. My memory fades with age!!

The Food & Wine Festival was great. I would go back again for it. If it wasn't nailed down, I ate and drank it. Crowds were really low during the week, only crowded on Sat & Sun.

Time to get ready for the Christmas trip....

I agree - way too many doors in the bathroom. We were just there 2 weeks ago and found that setup very annoying. You feel like you're in a closet when using the toilet. I like the BWV setup, where there is counter space at the big sink and more storage as well. Also, there wasn't a front closet in BCV, which you do have at BWV.

BCV has a the benefit of being incredibly close to Epcot, and it has a great pool (the reason for staying at BCV this time), but for room layout I'm glad we own at Boardwalk!

From descriptions, it sounds like the BCV bathroom layout is the same as VWL in the 1/2 bedroom units.

I know what you mean about all of the doors. It took me awhile to get the hang of it, which isn't fun when you've absolutely, positively gotta find what's behind door number 3.;) ;) ;)

Confusing bathrooms??? As long as I can distiguish the sink from the toilet, I'm happy... :teeth:

Seriously, I think the reason for all the doors is to have a private entrance from both the master bedroom, and the living room area. I believe this is an Interval International requirement in order for the pull out sofa to be considered a private sleeping area.

Hmmmmmm When DH and I stayed at BWV this past September we thought there was too many doors in the bathroom area....... I think there was a total of 4 doors inside the 1 bedroom unit..... all withen a few feet of each other....

the bedroom door, the door off the bedroom to the tolet area, fromthe toliet to the shower, and from the shower to the living room......

Just goes to show...... what is few doors to some is a lot of doors to others...... LOL

Last wednesday DW and I toured room 108 at BCV. The unit had a door from MBR to "hottub/sink" room and a door from the "hottub/sink" room to the "shower/commode/sink" room. Thats 2 doors. Then one more from the "shower/commode/sink" room to the "hallway/living/kitchen" room. So that's 3 doors. I made a point to ask the CM on duty about the doors in the bathroom area if all of the 1/2 BR units have this exact layout or do some of them also have a door that closes off the commode area from the "shower/sink" area.
She said "she thought that all of the 1-2 bedroom units where exactly like the unit I was viewing."

So what is the deal? 1?, 2??, 3??? or 4 doors ????

We have stayed at VWL twice now in a 2BR. Once in a dedicated and the other time in a non-dedicated. Neither had the commode area with its own door that shut it off from the "shower/sink" area. I have heard of these "private" commode rooms, but havn't yet had the pleeasure to experience one in the, ... ahem... flesh.

I guess if the CM's hosting the display units don't know what the room layouts are, I too can be in the dark!

I like the idea of the commode being in a separate room. This is one area where I could use privacy from everyone, including my spouse. However, the door between the tub room and the shower room was kind of inexplicable to me (I need privacy from my husband when I shower, but not when I bathe???) until someone mentioned that it is an II requirement to allow full (not just commode) bathroom privacy between the common area and the master suite. If this is the case, then the layout makes sense, although I wonder why the other DVC resorts are exempt from this requirement

I guess I'm in the minority. When we toured the BCVs this summer, I told DW that they had made a nice upgrade in the bathroom by adding that privacy door for the commode.

Since I am the only male in our group of four, this is pretty helpful to me.

And the other doors...well, I like the ability to compartmentalize the bathrooms.

Like I said, I guess I'm in the minority. But I thought the BCV bathroom set up was pretty good.

We stayed at VWL in a 2 bedroom lockoff last March. There was a door between the commode area and the sink/shower room. It was a pocket door (one that slides back into the wall). Someone who is not looking for a door there and is not familiar with pocket doors might not notice it at all, so that might explain the "are there 3 or 4 doors" question.

I totally agree that there are too many doors. I almost forgot to lock some of them. Also, I don't like the shower head pointing right at the shower door. Many times it floods the whole floor before I can go in and turn it sideways.

It's nice to have such a bathroom though. That was larger than most apartments in Manhattan!!!

Glad you enjoy the F&W festival. I missed it alot. :(
