Hi! I have a question about the Chip N' Dale Critter Breakfast. I see online that the breakfast is a buffet, but I also saw online an a la carte breakfast menu. Are both of these a part of the character breakfast? Or how does that work? Also, any reviews would be great! We are thinking of eating here in the morning on the day of our Halloween party. Thanks!

When we were there last year we had our choice of the buffet or ordering off the menu. We really enjoyed it (we both had the buffet) -- it wasn't a giant buffet, but everything was very good and fresh and it was a little quieter and more mellow than Goofy's Kitchen. The characters were lots of fun and very involved -- mostly we had 'woodland creatures' like Chip & Dale, bears from Brother Bear, a few animals from Pocahontas, and a forest ranger who was hilarious and trying to keep all the animals 'in line.' It's not cheap but we felt it was a great choice overall.

IIRC, the ala carte option for breakfast is gone, and now it's only the buffet at breakfast. Lunch is ala carte, and dinner can be either buffet or ala carte. And at dinner you can also opt for a dessert buffet if you want ala carte dinner but can't make up your mind about dessert. Looking at the official website, it's ONLY buffet at breakfast.

It was nice when they offered both options at breakfast. The characters roam the dining room, so it didn't matter if one hadn't chosen the buffet option. We've always seen Koda and Kenai (Brother Bear) in addition to Chip & Dale, and usually Meeko (Pocohantas), and we've seen Br'er Fox on one occasion, if my memory serves me.
Personally, I prefer the food at Storytellers over Goofy's Kitchen, though did have a somewhat lackluster experience at Storytellers for Mothers Day brunch last yr--most of the time we enjoy our breakfasts at Storytellers. Or, it may just be that it could not compare to what had been a fabulous Mothers Day brunch at the DLH we had experienced the prior two consecutive yrs (sadly the Royal Buffet brunch was cancelled as of last yr, supposedly due to the Tinkerbell half marathon-even though the marathon didn't change to Mothers Day weekend in 2014).

Any time in more recent years that I've done this character meal, I've seen Chip, Dale, Koda, Kenai and Meeko. One time I think Baloo was coming in to the restaurant as we were heading out. I did eat there back in 2001 too -- the first year the Grand Californian Hotel was open -- and Pluto was there, along with the previously mentioned characters. I think Rafiki was there too. The number of characters got scaled back a bit over the years.

Dang! Thanks for posting this OP, I was hoping for the breakfast menu option. I have a big question about the buffet...are there breakfast potatoes/hashbrowns and bacon at least?

I ate here in December 2014 and it was buffet only. We saw Chip, Dale, Koda, Kenai, and Meeko. Most came to our table twice and we had great interactions even though we were a table of 4 adults.

I just looked back through my photos and I had eggs benedict, hashbrowns, fruit, Mickey waffles (small), bacon and a pastry on a plate in one picture. There was definitely sausage and other offerings as well. All in all everyone in my group really enjoyed the food. It was hot and fresh the entire time we were there.

We were there last week and they did have a nice selection of stuff, including hash browns and bacon. They also have a omelet bar that was great. I didn't try but you can typically get fresh fried eggs at an omelet bar as well. Definitely no ala carte there these days.

Shoot! I was hoping a la carte was still an option! Thanks for all the info everyone!

The official description of the buffet is "Enjoy Omelets Cooked-to-Order, Storyteller's Cafe famous Caramel French Toast, Eggs Benedict, Mickey-shaped Waffles, Bagels and Lox, Seasonal Fruit, and Fresh-baked Pastries"
