Just wondering if Splash Mountain is similar in scope to the log flume ride at Storyland. I've never actually ridden Splash before, but we do the Bamboo Chutes every summer at SL. Is Splash about the same, or is it more intense?

You cannot compare the attractions at SL to those at WDW!!:lmao: My SIL and I always talk about it while at SL...'if we were in Disney right now, there would be......"
Splash Mountain is definately more intense than Bamboo Chutes...Although the height restriction for SM is only 40 inches, it is a longer, steeper drop. (I am surprised about that, I thought the height restriction was taller) My nephew was 7 or 8 when we went and although he liked it after we got off, it did scare him a bit.
You will be able to see the drop from the bridge and judge for yourself. I do not know how old your princesses are, so I cannot say if you should do it or not. My 5 yr old will make the height restriction this December, but I am not sure if I will let her ride it (or if she will want to!)
It is an awesome ride, even without the drop. I call it a 'feel good ride'.

Oh, I know there is no comparison! We kept saying that while we were at SL and SV last week! :lmao: I just want to be able to prepare the girls for Splash since they have never ridden it. My 3 year old won't be tall enough anyway, and she was FREAKED by the Chutes. My 6 year old LOVES the fast rides, so I'm sure she will have a blast on Splash. :cool1:

Go for it then!!

The splash drop is just a short part of the ride and it is not at the very end, so there is more of the attraction to enjoy and distract your princess princess: if it does scare her. But it sounds like she is a little dare devil and it will not bother her at all!

We usually do SL over memorial day w/e, but we haven't done SV and I don't know if we will. Once you've done WDW, all of these other little parks are ruined for you. We do SL because there is a big group of us that usually go...the past few years there has been between 4 to 8 families. The more the merrier.

We were just at SL a few weeks ago! My 3 and 5 y/o DDs LOVED splash Mt and were disappointed with bamboo chutes.
So I would think you should be good for SM! The ride is so well themed that the little ones enjoy the drop as just an exciting part of the ride. I think it's one of our favorites.
Have fun!
