Hello!

This will be our first trip to Akershus...just wondering how I should dress my little princesses!princess:

I'm sure anything goes but I don't want to show up in princess gowns if that's not the norm. On the flip side, I don't want the girls to be in regular clothes surrounded by a room of princess gowns...:confused3

I know it's a silly question and the girls will have a fabulous breakfast no matter what they're wearing but I thought I'd ask for help while putting my packing list together!

Thanks so much!

My DD wore her Jasmine costume and was BEYOND thrilled when Jasmine showed up......and they were twins! I say let them dress up if they want to and if they fuss, don't make them. You will see some girls dressed and some not :)

Have fun. This was one of our FAVORITE meals and we got to see Belle (yellow dress for photos at the front), Mary Poppins, Ariel (in wedding dress and with feet), Jasmine and Mulan. Perfect way to start our last day at WDW :)

You'll see both, so you won't be out of place either way. Plus, the kids are SO focused on the princesses, they won't even notice anyone else probably! We went last year for lunch after BBB but unfortunately had to travel through a tropical storm (seriously, a palm tree was uprooted!) on our way there, so DD was in princess gear, but had some lovely wet bangs plastered to her face and the rest of us ranged from damp to soaked.

Most of the little girls do wear princess dresses. I would definitely count on at least bringing them because once your dd sees other she may want a princess dress too. I can't tell you how many parents run to the cart and shop across the square and drop $70 on a princess dress because their dd is having a meltdown.

I think a lot of girls will be in princess dresses. If your kids are going to flip out if they don't have one and other girls do, by all means wear one! They definitely won't be the only ones there!

Personally, I'm not that into the princess dresses and DDs don't care one way or the other, so I have cute applique shirts for them...still "princessy" but something a little different. :)

We've been twice and the first time, my girls wore Princess costumes. The second time, they wore custom twirl skirts with princess fabric and then a shirt with the princess appliqued on it.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate you all taking the time to point me in the right direction!

Love those shirts! Did you make them?

Sounds great! Looks like our princesses are about the same age...my DDs are 6 and 3. If you're looking to get rid of last year's outfits (Am I allowed to say that :rolleyes1, PM me. I am looking as we speak to order a few outfits for the week!

Either way your kids will be fine. My 4 yr old REFUSED to wear her princess dress. It was Sept, very hot and humid and those dresses are scratchy. She wore shorts and a princess tshirt and got just as much attention as the little girls in full princess clothes.

I didn't...I bought them on eBay! :thumbsup2 I have the machine to do appliques, but not the patience, so it was worth my sanity to buy them. :) If you're interested, I can PM you with the seller's name...they aren't too expensive at all - $25 I think.

HI- I love the appliqued shirts that you purchased off ebay. Would you mind sending me the sellers name?

Thank you!

My dd(3) loves your shirts! :cloud9:She is princess obsessed!:rotfl: She has been to the Storybook Princess lunch x2! Even My dh enjoys eating there for lunch! She dressed up as Cinderella the first time, but I wanted her dressed as Belle the 2nd time for her picture with Belle, which turned out great! I think most of the little girls were dressed in Princess dresses and some of the ones that weren't were pointing out those that were to their moms! :eek:I bought DD her Belle dress at the Disney store on sale before our trip and was glad I had! :cheer2:

My DD4 will be wearing her princess dress with pride in just over a week to the Princess Storybook Breakfast. When we went Oct '08 over half the girls were wearing dresses. This meal was the highlight of our trip, my DD4 still asks me to have lunch with the Princesses. You'll have a blast!!

Walking around the parks with the dresses on can be fun too, a lot of the CMs will greet and bow to your princesses, its really sweet.
