Hi,
I'm a first time poster, but a long-time reader. This is a wonderful site and I thought I would contribute something I heard. I was a part of a program called Kentucky Governor's Scholars and as a part of the program, special speakers came to talk to us. The former astronaut Story Musgrave, as you all probably know, works for Disney now. He told us that he was an Imagineer and many people began asking questions. Someone in our group asked what he was currently working on. He said he was developing a theme park with Disney that would be located on 1000 acres in the southwestern U.S. in a dome-structure. He mentioned that the name being thrown around right now is "Alpha-Centuri Base One." He talked about how people could stay there for extended periods of time. To enter the park would require going on a simulator attraction that simulated riding through space. The same thing, except opposite, would occur when you left. He said he didn't know when it would open. He also said he was working on an attraction (Mission:Space?) and an animated movie (Treasure Planet?). He didn't want to give us any more info, but I thought the theme park thing was a pretty big topic to discuss. That's all I have. I don't know what to make of it, perhaps you guys have some insight. Thanks again for making this such a great site.
