I was planning on staying at BCV in Feb and a post just stated this on the DVC board. Well, I called our member services and it was confirmed to me. Stormalong Bay will be COMPLETELY closed from 1/2 - 3/21. I just wanted to give people the heads up if they wanted to switch resorts.

Wow! Completely closed! There was a post the other day that someone had been told that it was going to be closed in sections. Maybe they took another look at bookings and decided that if it did get hot enough to swim the quiet pools could handle the demand.

If we were booked at the YC we would probaly want to switch resorts.

We are staying at Beach Club in mid-January, and decided we aren't changing resorts. Guess we will just use the quiet pools if it gets warm enough. There was a post about BC and YC guests could use the Boardwalk pool instead - my family and I would gladly walk over there if it was permitted. :)

Funny thing is I just "knew" they would close StormAlong Bay, since my family and I seem to have no luck with rehabs recently.

the newest update from Disney is that only the slide will be close. But it will be closed from 1/3 to 4/3/2003.

Hi,
When I took a tour of the Beach Club in early November, I noticed that Stormalong Bay was showing a little wear and tear, specifically the bottom of the pool. It looked discolored and almost like it was cracking. I hope that the refurbishment is for the entire pool area and not just the slide, because I think it needs it! Just my opinion!

I was not happy with SB in August. In some sections the sane was knee deep, and in many areas it was concrete exposed....... It was not "right"! Hopefully they will work on that problem as well.

My wife called today as we have reservations in February. My wife was told that only the slide will be closed and that people staying at the BC can be ferried or shuttled over the the BW pool.

We keep seeing different stories with different CONFIRMATIONS. I hope this is not some way to manipulate reservations.

Anyone with news since 3PM on the 10th? Thanks.....

To add to the confusion... I just called the YC directly using the 934-7000 number to ask them about the pool closure. The YC switchboard operator consulted her "rehab list" and saw nothing listed for YC. I said I had conversed with others that had been told that a rehab was scheduled, so she said "Let's get the word from the 'horse's mouth'" and transferred me to the YC front desk. The CM there said she knew of no such closure being scheduled.

Perhaps this lends credence to the "slide only" theory?!?!?!
