Does anyone know what they are doing to the slide. I posted a question about the slide one time and got some responses indicating that it was bumpy on the inside and had some problems. I don't much like the fact that it's enclosed. I was wondering if they are making any major changes.

take it from someone that has ridden on that slide several times...it is not bumpy on the inside...actaully rather smooth and a good surface to pick up some speed with....
i think that the renovation is nothing more then that...a renovation...i don't believe that they are making any changes to the structure of the pool or the slide...could be wrong though....

It leaked a bit onto the sidewalk when we stayed at the Beach Club a few years ago. I imagine if it was leaking then it would just start leaking more and more.

It would be rather a pain for people walking by to dodge falling water. It would probably also count as a safety hazard with a slippery wet sidewalk all the time.

Has anyone heard if it will be opened any earlier then April 4?

Has anyone visited and seen what kind of renovations they are doing to the slide? I know the pirate ship was in need of repair, the rope decorations needed redone. Just interested.

we were just there last week and they had scaffulls all aroud the ship and couldnt tell you what they were working on since it didnt look like much work was getting done, we visited several times during our stay since we really enjoy beaches and creams. possibly just restoring the whole thing, no changes, but hoping it will be done by our next trip since we will be staying at the bcv. the pools were crowded, but i guess you have both resorts bcv and yhtc swimming there and the people seem not to mind that the ship was not in use.

There is a picture in this album of the SAB slide rehab. Our niece and nephew was staying there for their honeymoon. The night we stopped by the BCV jacuzzi was broke and there was only 1 operating at SAB. They had to move from their room the 1st night due to lack of hot water in their area. It was 4th floor poolview.Don't remember room # They were moved to a 1st floor handicapped room then before they sat down was told that was a mistake and given another room on the 1st floor. They still had a blast anyway.
