Storm slides at TL?

I was at TL last summer, but never managed to see the storm slides. We did the slides with the tubes though. How do the storm slides compare to those? I have no desire to do the big slide, Hummunga Kowabunga, as I don't like that huge drop. Are the storm slides large drops or more of a gradual slope?

Where was the huge slide? I didn't see it while there

There are 3 storm slides. None of them has a huge drop, but they are water jet powered to allow you to uphill like a roller coaster. I can't remember the names exactly, but I think they are Pineapple, Coconut and Banana. Two of them will allow a 3 or 2 person tubes and one will allow only the 2 person tube (Banana). If you want to go by yourself, just use a 2 person tube. My DS6 and I rode all of them at least twice. Tip: lift up your bottom (ie, don't let it drag on the slide) as you go down the slide especially if you are riding in the back or you will get sore! We rode them first thing in the morning and only had a 5 minute wait at the most.

I think Cinderella822 is talking about the 3 slides in the back of the park next to humunga kowabunga (the three speed slides) not the new master blaster style crush and gusher (although you give a great description of it!).

The storm slides are great and very easy going (they are body slides). They have a few turns in them and there are a few covered sections of the slides as well. They are very much a more gently sloping slide vs the speed slides next door to them. The storm slides are much tamer than Keelhaul and Mayday falls raft rides. I hope this helps.

Yes, the body slides are the ones I'm referring to. I've heard a lot about the new ride, crush and gusher, and I'm excited to try that as well. I've never done a body slide before but judging by your description, I think I may try these if they're not too intense. Thanks so much! :flower:

The body slides are not too intense for me (fifty something, Pooh sized). Be sure to try the Crush n Gusher tube slides. They are a lot of fun, and as an earlier poster suggested KEEP YOUR BUTT UP!

I went on a body slide near us last summer, and slowly came to a stop about 100 feet down. Great! Then I remembered from the UoG "arch your back so only your feet and shoulders are touching the slide". WWHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Cheers.
