Hi, This'll be my first trip to Orlando itself. I'm hoping to get lots of shopping done there since rural Newfoundland doesn't exactally offer any :) I'm wondering if anyone has a good idea of any stores that sell PLUS sizes. Any help would be great. Or even if there are any stores in the Prime outlet that sell plus sizes. Thanks in advance!!

I dont know about the Prime Outlets, but there is a Lane Bryant and Torrid in the Florida Mall. JC Penneys in that mall has a large plus size department as does Macy's, and I would imagine you'd be able to find plus sizes in Nordstroms, Dillards, and Sears as well.

There's a Dress Barn Woman store at the Prime Outlet Mall and another one at the Orlando Premium Outlet Mall.

Most dress stores in Florida have Plus Size racks.

Depends on your budget and type of shop you like, but there is a Ross Dress for Less that has racks of Plus Sizes at excellent prices near Prime. It is about 2 or 3 shops away from the Bed and Bath store on the opposite side to the Cinemark entertainment complex. There is also a TK Max shop but I prefer Ross as it is easier to find things.

I always need another suitcase for all the things I buy at Ross.

If you will be going to the Prime outlets, there is a Lane Bryant store in that area in a strip mall across from Festival Bay at Touchstone Dr. If you are heading north International Drive, it will be on your left a couple traffic lights before the Prime Outlets. If you are familiar with I-Drive it is the first traffic light after the big curve at the north end. This shopping strip also has a Ross with a decent selection of plus sized items and a TJ Maxx with a less decent selection of plus sized items. I got my evening gown for our holiday party 2 years ago at this Ross. There is also a Marianne store a couple doors down from Lane Bryant that has a selection of plus sized apparel but it is not the same quality as you'll find at Lane Bryant. But they often have good deals on stuff like tank tops which are great for layering. I've also heard that they are planning to put a Lane Bryant Outlet store at one of the outlet centers but I don't have any details yet.

As Ducklite suggested there are lots of options at the Florida Mall but unfortunately the Lane Bryant store there is closing or might even have closed already. They still have Torrid which tends to carry very young, trendy clothes of decent quality. The Dillards and Macy's stores at Florida mall typically have a very nice selection of Plus Sized apparel as well.

If you are going to be near 192, there is a Lane Bryant in the same shopping complex as the SuperTarget just east of SR-535. The Target also has a decent selection of plus sized sportswear at reasonable prices and there are often clearance rack with prices up to 75% off.

Happy shopping! :)

The Avenue and Catherine's have a nice selection of Plus Size clothing also.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm already looking up these websites and saving it on my map :) Keep suggestions coming! I appreciate it all.

I have been to EVERY Catherines store in Orlando and up and down our route driving from New Brunswick.

I LOVE Catherines and I find it to be like a Pennington's with a bit of AdditionElle's higher quality stuff.

I love their Jean Capri's and the cotton blouses are really nice. I bought 12 knit tops while there that I am going to use as my uniform at work (we own our own summer business) I bought every colour and love them. (They keep their shape well)

Lane Bryant is very nice, professional with some more casual stuff as well (think Additionelle) and AVENUE has nice clothes but the worst sales people in the world and it's hard to find the sizes. Imagine having to find the tag on the inside of each pair of jeans while they are hanging just to find out which size they are. Very frustrating. We were in one in Orlando and it was 45 minutes without a hello. It was obvious I was looking for sizes and even when DH asked if someone was available to help me, they were no help. There were 2 people working and in that time, there was only one other person who came in and one was checking out when I arrived.

I liked some of their clothes but after all that, I could not deal with that kind of frustration ever again.

I hope this helped.

I got so many clothes at Catherines that I do not have to buy any for the coming summer. On this trip alone, I got 5 blouses, 1 winter jacket, 1 fall jacket, 12 knit shirts with collars that look like they have a t-shirt under them (6 solid and 6 stripes), 6 jean capris and I was pleased with it all.

Now, I did not get this all at one store but there are a few in Orlando and I made a point of going to each one because DH is so nice about me buying things I like to wear. They have great clearance sections as well.

Let me know if this helps. Also, I am not a size 14...I am truly plus size(LOL) and I wanted nice, comfortable, quality clothes and I am not into dressing up too much as our business is casual. (We own a motel and chalet business so I only work summers and there is no dress code because I am the boss...LOL)

avenue store is located in the terrace just out side the florida mall! i love that store!!

Do any of these places also sell bras? I'd love to shop somewhere that has a great selection of bras. You just can't get that up here. Even if someone knows in St Pete's too, we'll be there the first couple days.
Thanks for all your help so far, keep it coming!

Catherines has bras for sure and I know Lane Bryant does...None fit me as I am only a B cup and they don't go that low but each of these stores had a least many bras as Pennington's if that helps.

I see that someone pointed you towards Torrid and I LOVE their bras. Hands down the best bras that I have found in a long time. I wear a 40DD if that helps you for a size idea. They are actually cute bras whereas what I was finding other places I nicknamed turtleneck bras because they were so huge and bulky and felt like they came up so far. Hey if I have to be heavy, I can at least accentuate the fact that I have something nice going on up top, LOL ;)

There is a specialist bra shop in Premium Outlet Mall called Maidenform that does all sizes of beautiful bras for cheap prices. They may be in Prime, but I cannot remember as I only bought from the Premium Outlet at the other end of I Drive.

There is a great chain of stores called Marianne Stores with more fashionable clothes than your usual plus size stores, for both Plus and misses sizes. Their styles have a Latin flair to them which looks great on everyone. There is one on International Drive and also across the street from the Florida Mall and other Florida locations. They have a website also to check out the stlyes, and locations
Lots of sales like $40 dresses for $7 and 75% off depending on when you go.
They also have a large selection of bra's.
You can see the style for smaller women and they have the same thing in PLUS Sizes.

I've been to Marianne and while you can get cheap clothes there the reality is that they are cheap clothes. The quality is not the same level as I find at some other stores like Lane Bryant or Dillards but if you are looking for trendy, single season items (in fashion today, out of fashion tomorrow) and don't want to pay too much you can get a lot of stuff for a little money.
