Hello! We are going to spend 5 days in WDW and then go on a Disney cruise. I am going to rent a City Mini Double for the WDW part of our vacation but want to find an umbrella stroller for the cruise portion of our vacation. Does anyone know if there is a store in DTD that would sell an umbrella stroller?

We will not have access to a car so I'm looking for either DTD or somewhere on Disney property.

Thanks!

There is an umbrella stroller that is sold on property. It's red and made by kolcraft (I think) and is around $55. I've seen it sold in resort gift shops as well as the parks. At Hollywood studios I've seen it at the gift shop right outside the main gate.

It might be cheaper to order something online and ship it to your resort. Or bring one from home.

I agree about ordering online or bringing one with you. $55 dollars for the stroller they sell is not good. Its a cheap stroller that will not last long. And depending on the weight of the child might not even work good.

I have a Jeep Cherokee "All Terrain" stroller that I love. It's not an umbrella stroller but it folds up really small. It's $50 at Walmart, and you could order it and have it sent ahead to your resort. (You'll need to snap on the basket and attach the wheels, but that's easy enough.) You can use it on your cruise and in the parks if you wanted, or gift it to someone else. It's WAY nicer than the cheap ones from the park and very rugged. I've used mine for a year and it's still perfect. There's also a Jeep umbrella style stroller at Walmart.com. And many people recommend the First Years Jet or Ignite umbrella style strollers.

I do NOT recommend the cute Disney umbrella strollers at Walmart. They're adorable but fall apart. Trust me. I bought one. After the first use with my 25 lb. one-year-old there's a tear in the seat. I lost the receipt and couldn't return it, so I mended it and will continue to use it, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Thank you so much! I didn't think to order a stroller and have it sent to the resort. I am so glad that I posted. I will check out the different ones that were mentioned. Thanks again :thumbsup2

I haven't flown with a baby, but everyone says that gate-checking a stroller is really easy. Getting an inexpensive stroller (or a "nicer" one on Craigslist) and using it in the airport seems like it might be convenient. Again, I don't have personal experience. My cousin traveled solo with her 2 kids (one 2, one a newborn) and she wore the little one and pushed the older one in a stroller and gate checked it. That way she had the stroller when she got off the plane.

I had to purchase the Kolcraft Stroller at WDW in March. It was $58 including tax. I didn't bring a stroller because our cheapo had been stolen last summer, and we made it fine the remainder of the trip without a stroller. Unfortunately, DD ended up getting sick on the way down to WDW. She stayed at the hotel with DH for a couple days until she was better, but after one day in the parks without a stroller, I could tell her body was tired from having recently been sick. We also brought the stroller on our cruise. It turned out to be a nice little stroller, and we brought it with us when we returned in May. It even had a cup holder, and the back had clips that could be moved to recline slightly. At the end of our May trip with the stroller, we didn't have enough room in the car to bring it home, so we just left it. We definitely got our money's worth considering the cost of renting a stroller.

I have to admit, I didn't search for a cheaper one. I just knew we could not go on without a stroller for her and went to the nearest shop (which happened to be Mouse Gears @ Epcot) to purchase the stroller. One thing to remember is that the stroller is sold in the parks, so a lot of people have it. We tied a bag to the handle so we could identify it more easily.
