Stops near GA / FL line on I-75?

Next month, we will be making our first long trip with our 5th wheel camper to the Fort. I'm hopeful that we will be able to make the GA/FL line (from Louisville, KY area) before we call it a day. If the weather is cool enough, I'd like to be able to find a "free" stop (Cracker Barrel, Wal-Mart, Flying J, Love's, etc). I have downloaded the Allstay app on my iphone which is supposed to identify / plot out these types of stops...I'm still playing with it so I have no expierence with it as of yet.

Does anyone have any advice or recommendations on where to stop? Is it easier to find these places in GA (thinking that maybe FL is more restrictive in allowing overnight stops)? If we're feeling good, I'd rather keep driving south to allow less travel time the next day. However, I don't want to go so late as to get tired and then be unable to find a place to stop.

Thanks in advance!
Brian

There is a brand new Loves at the Jasper,Live Oak FL exit. Don't know if there are any restrictions about overnight or not. It has only been open a few weeks. There will be a fair amount of places around Valdosta, Ga but for the most part there are mainly small towns in South Ga and North FL. Valdosta GA and Lake City FL both have Walmarts near the interstate. I grew up in Jasper.

Thank you both for your advice. A quick check on allstays app shows that Walmart in Valdosta doesn't allow overnight stays, but the one you suggested in Florida does. So much for my previous thinking that GA would be more "camper-friendly" than Fl. It also shows the Jasper Love's has 100+ truck parking spots.

It would be best to confirm any place you try to overnight or "boondock" before you show up there (pernsonally, me, I wouldn't trust an app alone). Places in Florida (maybe into Georgia too) are notorious for not allowing boondockers and getting their hotel tax or sales tax for a campsite by forcing you to pay your taxes.

Good luck with your trip to the Fort. :drive:

We have always stopped at the Walmart at exit 16 in Valdosta and never had a problem. There are usually several RVs there when we stop. Could have just recently changed though.

There's a Flying J at Exit 2 Lake Park GA (2 miles from FL line). We always stop there for gas and a bite to eat on our way down from ATL.
