Sorry have to explain, no way this comment came out of left field, you have been on here for awhile according to your number of posts so you know the past. A certain poster wrote that we are not allowed to talk about current events in our country. There is a reason for this- political and religion discussions were banned from the disboards because of a reason. A few people (who remain nameless) who post about our current political affiliation and several times before they took office. It got the point that is became an obsession and this is all they wrote about= kind of sad to think that there is nothing going on in their lives maybe.

Yeah, I don't really see it as a personal attack. More like a pathetic, petty and unsuccessful attempt at getting a dig in and trying to look smart.

Lequisha isn't a real person (in this conversation, anyway). Someone help me out here....I can't think of the word. It's giving a "name" to women of a race and income status that cannot compete with a celebrity. Like saying Billy Bob or something if you were referring to a redneck. KWIM?
God, I hope this explanation is not misconstrued as racist. That is not the manner in which it was intended.

Post #62 was the first reference I saw. I believe it refers to someone who was born into a horrible situation and grew up disadvantaged both emotionally and monetarily. Race is not a factor, IMO.

A comment about the poster's need to remind everyone that political commentary isn't allowed anymore. Hasn't been for a long time yet some people still like to bring it up every now and then.

this is why I disagree with all the people on here that were so happy, she is doing time! She needs help, NOT to be in jail! but I guess that is not going to work for all you people who where so happy! because she will be out in around 2 weeks......so how does that help? It does not!

I disagree...you break the law you do time no matter who you are then you can check into rehab.

Okay I will make a comment on the original post. I cant believe america's obsession with a celebrity like this. She gets everything she deserves in my book. The judge gave her chance after chance., being rich like sometimes gives peoples a free pass but they caught up with her finally and proved to her that she cant keep breaking the law. She isnt the first one, look at paris hilton- spoiled little rich brats.

Sometimes jail translates to help. She has been in rehab before. She has been in outpatient treatment before. I don't rejoice in her going to jail. I get no pleasure out of it, but it may be part of the bigger picture for her recovery.

I agree and I hope it gives her the jolt she needs. I am breaking my rule of not talking about celebs but I really wish nothing but good for her. She is a cute, talented young woman and she is really in trouble due to addiction.

There are plenty of hall monitors around here. That's part of the reason why there is no more discussions about politics and religion. Too many people liked to dish it out but weren't willing to take it in return. Can't say that I blame the owners for getting rid of the discussions but it sure does make for a far less lively CB.

Maybe someday everything will be allowed back.

Seems like the only feathers that got ruffled was yours. I think that looking at Lohan as simply a "spoiled little rich brat", misses the bigger picture of addiction, lack of parenting in her formative years and the results of being a meal ticket for her parents, to agents to and "handlers". No one is saying that she should get a "get out of jail" card here. In fact, many of us are saying that jail time may be exactly what is needed to propel her to her next level of treatment and hopefully recovery. What I fail to get is the apparent joy and delight that others seem to express at her situation, even if it is of her own making.
