I don't necessarily feel bad for her, or think folks are being unfair to her, or anything like that. I resonate with what was said earlier in the thread, that what's wrong here isn't how what people are doing affects Lohan, but rather just the fact that we are a society that is all to quick to throw stones. The culture of being hurtful-for-the-sake-of-being-hurtful has gotten so bad that most reasonable people would eschew any public attention, even eschew high-level public service, leaving it exclusively to those so desperate for attention or power that the pointless viciousness of the general public doesn't overcome their consideration of the pursuit of fame.
