I'M WORRIED THAT IF WE TAKE A TRIP OUT TO FLORIDA FOR CHRISTMAS, THAT WE MAY GET STUCK IN WASHINGTON ON OUR STOPOVER.
WOULD THE WEATHER BE REALLY BAD AND THERE IS A LIKELYHOOD OF THE PLANE BEING GROUNDED?
AM I PANICKING???

it's not likely but it can't be ruled out. Sue got caught out in Philly last year. You have to bear in mind that the USA can get a ton of snow unexpectedly at any time throughout the winter , and if your timing is bad, then you cound be stuck

Lin,

Greetings from Washington, DC!

Normally we don't get much snow in December... we usually don't get any until early to mid february.

Having said that, I must say that we get the occaisional freak strom, like we got last month... that will dump 12 to 24 inches of snow on the ground.

I would say you are safe, but by all means, purchase vacation insurance.

Cheers,

Bill
