Okay, I was all set to take a trip in October, staying offsite and sharing a house with friends. So for some odd reason, I go to get a quote for Labor Day weekend(4 nights) and the price was $468 for me and DS11 at Pop with one day tickets(we have days left from our March trip to use) and of course, the free dining plan.

If I go in October, the cost will be $250 for the shared house, then food and parking at Disney, which for 4 days would be $48. Food I would guess at $30-$40 per day for the two of us, so that is $160. It would also be 10-15 miles to and from the park each day(GAS).

Basically, its a dead-on tie. I'd be driving either way, so I didn't add that cost in.

PROS: Better food, closer to the parks, and we liked Pop when we were there in March

CONS: Less time to save money, no MNSSHP, Hotter weather in August/September

So, what would YOU do?

The thing with tickets is the more you play the less you pay... or something like that. As a 14 year old going on 15 i'm going to say go for it!

I personally don't think I would ever go and not stay on Disney property.

I like to to be surrounded by all the magic :cloud9: .

What about your friends though, are they counting on your share of the rental? (you aksed to be stopped, right?!) :rolleyes2

Well, I was thinking of seeing if they wanted to do the same thing--stay at Pop. Looks like with their tickets + their part of the house, their cost would be right around $950 plus $48 for parking + food for 2 adults and 1 child. MYW with dining would be $1032. Again, pretty darn close and with food thrown in, they would come out ahead.

My DS11 really wants to do the MNSSHP. Is it really that great?

And the price for the house is for a week, so that trip could be longer(7 nights vs. 4 nights)

I should probably stick with October, but we did really enjoy the dining plan in March. Wonder if they will have free dining in 07? After this trip, I should have 3 days left for another trip.

I have two words for you; "FREE DINNING" in Sept. if you stay in the park. :thumbsup2
