I am out of control. I haven't even used my newly purchased BCV and HH points to go home yet -- and I already added on.

I was making reservations for next summer at HH and ran out of points for a Friday night stay. Well no problem I'll just buy that Friday instead of borrowing. Then my mind starts working -- well if I use the money I was going to spend on the Friday night toward a 25 point add on then it really really wouldn't cost very much. But ..... then no MB for anything less than 50 points. So of course --- 50 point add on.

In addition I have been spending way too much time on this board. Reading over the posts, I have become convinced that once VB sells out getting prime time reservations will become very difficult. That may be an incorrect call but..I want to be able to go for a week in March and catch some warmth and baseball.

Final tally - 300 BCV...120 HH...100 VB

Keep me away from my guide (and don't tell my spouse - not Disney friendly - although tolerates it for the DD's 8 and 4)!!!!

:p :p :p

I feel your pain!! I follow your reasoning, that's why I have 450 pts! I started with 170 pts, but didn't have enough pts for my spring and summer trips, soooooo--I bought another contract of 150 pts. Then, my daughter wanted to get married down at Disney, and she needed a honeymoon, so--another 25 pts. I really like BC--so another add-on of 105 pts. But, hey, I have a new love affair with OKW, so I want to add pts there for a future grand villa---man, I REALLY feel your pain!;)

rtp-resident and Cruelladeville,

I think we have the same disease;) , we started with 230, and now have 460.......and we are on the DVC waiting list for a small OKW re-sale and with 3 Timeshare brokers:confused:

Must be something in the water in NC, we havent been members very long, have yet to use our 1st pts., and already added on more pts.( and secretly looking for more in same use yr. at WLV, without DW aware) although she would have to know before we could sign the papers.

We are up the road from you in Burlington, hmmm, bound to be something in the water or maybe its airborne. Whatever, it gives me a warm feeling inside!

Keep it up!!! you'll end up with 3 resorts, and 6 add-ons in less than a year!! Enjoy those points!!

I can't help you since I am also afflicted with the same sickness!

We bought BCV at the end of April, 260 pts. We booked a two bedroom at BCV for a summer stay with our kids and our parents. That used up all but 8 of our pts! After reading through past and present posts, we added on at HH, just 55 pts, and VWL, 70 pts, only 2 wks after 1st purchase! We were on our way to WDW for Memorial Day weekend, so we signed the papers at the Boardwalk. Everyone at the office was so pleasant and friendly, we spent time just chatting with them and viewing the other models. My family walked out of there, each with a bag of cotton candy in hand, as I exclaimed that the buildings across the lake was our second home!

We were very satisfied with the whole DVC purchase and managed to stay away from these boards too. I logged on one day and someone had posted about splitting their purchase for their children. And I thought, our kids fight over who sits where at the dinner table, I could only imagine their arguments over DVC. But lo and behold, there was a BWV resale for 245 pts with our use year! This purchase would accomplish two things, provide an even set of pts to split for our kids AND enable us to reserve BWV standard view rooms at the 11-mo. window. But, the deal never went through. So we figured, it was not meant to be; 39 years from now we still expect to be enjoying WDW!

Then, on a longshot, I called my guide and they had BWV available! We debated over buying 245 pts or 135. Of course, we chose 245, since, YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY POINTS. We did split it to 160 BWV pts and 85 HH pts (for MB). Once again, we were going to WDW, so we signed at the Boardwalk, this time just DH and I. Once again, we spent even more time talking with the CMs (also stayed out of the pouring rain). As we were leaving one of them joked, "You know, you don't have to buy more points if you want more cotton candy!" That had us all laughing. DH and I walked out of there, smiling at each other, looking around the boardwalk saying, "We own a piece of this!"

DH and I talked about how we knew that WDW was a magical place for us 15 yrs ago, while on our honeymoon. We enjoyed WDW so much that we bought a piece of property just outside of Orlando during our stay for our first anniversary. We never built on the property and know that buying DVC was a far better choice for us.

I apologize for the looong post, but I'm just another happy DVC member wishing to share the magic! I am so relaxed there and social, when generally I am stressed and reserved. I'm glad to know there are others out there with the same sickness!

So did I make a mistake by buying at VB? Those of you who added -- did we buy a pig in the poke?

I enjoy reading all of these posts!

rtp-You are not alone!! Some people gamble, some drink, some shop, some smoke--we buy points. I rather have this affliction/addiction.

We have also recently added on at Vero. I am from NYC and am not sure what the "pig in a poke" reference means exactly; it doesn't sound good, but I think we made a wise decision. If you plan to got to Vero during March, You will probably need that 11 month window. The way I see it-all points are good--more is better!!
ENJOY -without guilt!!

rtp-resident,

We bought VB this Jan (sight unseen), and went ther 4 weeks ago. It is an awesome resort. Wait until you see the Beach Cottages(view-ocean). Everything at VB is 1st class and close proximity. The longest walk to anywhere on the resort is 5 minutes). You made a wise decision to get the 11 month window at VB.;)

It's terrible isn't it? We started with 200 at VWL. Before our first DVC trip we "had" to add 70 more at VWL. Now we are in the process of getting a resale at OKW. We have not even mentioned this last one to family & friends.

rtp-resident - Wow 520 points! I'm jealous.
We started with 250 and hope/dream of adding on down the line.
