Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

all caught up. Looks liek the weekend and some troubles, but you gusy made the best of it!

Morning everybody! It's a busy day at the office. I have two deadlines to meet before we close at Noon. I have one of them done and am waiting on a client to bring in the other stuff so I can finish the second deadline. Watch them wait until 11:30 or so to come in.

I hate that the diamond dash was a bust for you... I would have bowed out too! Can't wait to hear more - glad you two had fun. The tire thing is cracking me up - my husband would be the same way.

Feel free to steal all you like...that's one of my favorites. Other favorites are my grandmother's "awww, foot" (said in a heavy Southern accent, so it came out "awww, fuuuut") and my kids' "oh pickles!" ;)

My southern grandmother used to say ooh foot!

So sorry about all the bad luck! I hope it gets better.
I love looking for Disney stuff at flea markets my last find was a small plastic plate with a cartoon picture of the characters riding the teacups for .50 cents you would have thought I won the lottery!:yay:

UGH...I HATE pantyhose! Avoid them like the plague! ;)
Me too, I mean they get all... um.. wait. Nevermind. Forget I said anything!

---

Just popping in to say hello. Been reading along and it's been awhile since I commented. So I'm commenting now. Not that I really have much to say, but at least you know I'm still here!

When Austin wrestled he use to wear tights (keeps the opponate from pulling hair on their legs). We laughed. I think maybe that is why he quit?:rotfl2:

Hope you are having a great day Allan

I've been away for a while and just got caught up tonight. Your trip to Hot Springs is a real "adventure" :). Sorry the "Dash" wasn't what it was advertised to be.

Oh it wasn't 700 people it was 700 COUPLES! I have pictures that I will post of the crowds.

700 couples!!! Wow!! We would have definitely skipped it too!! Can't believe those crowd pics!! Too bad you couldn't have at least gotten the t-shirt with all the trouble you went through.

I'm glad the whole tire mystery was finally figured out!! What a weekend you seem to have!! Sorry it didn't go as you hoped it would.

Your pictures of the outside of the hotel are beautiful!! The room on the other hand sounds terrible...ugh!

It sounds like despite everything you managed to make the best of things.;) Can't wait to read more!!

Hey, this is off topic, but I know we are all looking for extra money these days. Well I do those click to paid type sites, and I have a few that I like, but I just stumbled accross one 2 weeks ago that pays better and only has a $5 payout via paypal. If you just do the paid clicks each day it equals just over $2 a day. So thats an easy $14 a week. If anyone wants any info about it, just PM me, and Ill tell you more. But for me an extra $40 plus a month is nice.

Hope you all had a great weekend.
Paige was diagnosed with mono last Tuesday and Claire and I are feeling a bit under the weather, but I'm sure ours are colds. Skip is still recovering well, but has his moments. He thinks he should be perfect already, and of course a hip replacement takes a long time to heal...Duh!

Hope Paige feels better soon. Austin had mono when he was 4. Extremely young. Super sick for 6 weeks. Hope you and Claire get well super fast. And Skip is a man. They know for a fact how perfect they are.

Have a good week. Good deal on the extra money. I would love more but I don't have any more time during the week as it is. Maybe I should look into it for Don when he retires so he can have spending money.

Jen--that sounds interesting:rolleyes1

hope Paige feels better soon (Dayne, we think, had it last year--he would not go take the blood test; it took him awhile to get over it. Gwendolyn had it with her first boyfriend about 5 yrs ago, and evey time she gets super stressed she gets a bout of it again)...hope you and Claire feel better soon. and Skip sounds just like Danny! LOL!!!

I'll come back and reply to the posts in a little bit. Right now, I am going to write up an installment before the boss makes it in.:thumbsup2

Now that we have totally skipped out on the diamond dash and we've eaten lunch, we decided to drive out to Lake Ouachita State Park which is about 20 miles from downtown Hot Springs. When we go camping, we camp at Lake Ouachita. It's a beautiful and well maintained State park.

One of the things that we knew we wanted to try and find for Hunter was a magic kit. He's really into the whole magic thing right now....illusions, tricks, etc. There's a toy store downtown but we were thinking they'd probably not have anything.

On the way to Lake Ouachita, there's Mid-America Museum. It's a neat place for kids. Everything is hand-on. We thought that there might be an ever so slight chance that the museum had a magic kit in their gift shop. And, since it's on the way to the State park, we decided to stop and see. We entered the museum gift shop and were stunned to see that the size was about half of what it used to be. They had taken it in and they didn't have much at all. No magic kits either. Wasted stop. I did take our picture on the walkway back to the car.

We got back on the road and were on our way to Lake Ouachita. We wound our way up the mountain road and arrived at a virtually empty park. One entire camping section was closed. There were 7 or 8 tents and 4 campers in another section. In the last section there were 4 or 5 campers and a large Boy Scout troup.

The lake was really high and they had the rental boats out in the lake itself instead of docked at the marina. There were some fisherman on the lake but not a lot. Next, we drove down to the beach to have a look around. There was no beach! The lake was so high that the beach was completely covered. The little pathway that we used to take to go fishing was under water too. It was a little overcast but sill a beautiful day. A few pictures:

This big rock is near the parking lot. You can't see it well in the picture but there are hundreds of crystals in the rock.

We got back in the car and drove up the hill a little ways to Three Sister's Springs. Back in the day, people used to come and get water from the springs. Each spring was supposed to have a medicinal purpose. There are signs now that say you aren't supposed to drink the water. There are also signs that say what each spring is supposed to cure. I thought I took pictures of each sign but I guess I didn't....only the one for Spring 2.

The springs and the sign:

John didn't get out of the car while I was taking pictures. He was laughing at me and telling me to hurry up or he would leave me while I was taking pictures of water. The springs are in a little shed type structure and I could hear the spring water running and I could hear what I thought was the car revving. I hurried up and took the pictures and rushed back to the car. What I thought was the car engine revving was a chain saw. I could have took more pictures of water.:rotfl:

We stopped at the park bathhouse to take a tinkle break. By the way, their bathhouses are kept super clean.:thumbsup2 We started to stop at the ranger station and look in their gift shop but it looked like it was closed so we decided to just head back to Hot Springs. But, not before I stopped and took pictures on the way down the mountain.

****Up next: A tour of an historic bathhouse.

We used to camp there when the girls were small. The last time (many years ago) a huge rain came and I swore we were going to wash down that mountain. I haven't been back. I so remember those signs. That naughty John. He was about to get a scolding wasn't he? I remember Austin, Andrew being super interested in magic at that age. Yes, I bought several magic kits. Alex will be soon I'm sure. If he can get out of Star Wars legos.
