We were at DL for a few hours today and went on Casey Jr. and as we were waiting in line we noticed that they would stop the train along the straight part right before you go through the last tunnel near the end of the ride. I saw them do it twice and then they did it while we were riding too. The CM who was driving the train just told everyone to stay seated for a short stop and then she started up again right away. We only stopped for a few seconds. We ride this fairly often and haven't seen them stop before. Does anyone know why they're doing this now? :confused3 I would have asked a CM but I was too busy dealing with DS.

Hmm I don't think they have a second train but if they do maybe they need to space them out.

Most likely a timing issue between loads. I do believe they had 2 trains at Xmas, but not totally positive.

They were doing this when we were there last week, too. It was just one train running. I had wondered if there were multiple trains, so I watched to see if the same "driver" came back around and she did. I thought maybe the stop was a new safety measure of some sort since I think that's the last clear view between the CM driving the train and the CM back at the station before the train rounds the corner for the last stretch of ride.

It's possible there is a sigal which must be clear before it reaches the station. It may also be to ensure that it is at a slow enough speed before entering.

they do have a second train I saw them put on a second one when we were in line in early August. not sure what the problem is though.

Okay, it's been a VERY long time since I have gone on Casey Jr., but it crosses over the Storybookland canal, right?

Maybe they can't cross over the bridge when I boat is going under the bridge for safety reasons so they have to pause?!?!?

Pure guess. Thoughts?

They did this when we were there in August and July?? i was wondering the same thing, but of course didnt ask, the next person to go to DLR must ask a CM about this, because obviously it is standard now???

Actually, my first thought was that they were doing it to slow the train down but then we weren't going that fast to begin with. Has anyone noticed that the train is going slower these days than it used to? I remember going on it a couple times about a year ago and we were really going fast down that last little hill. Then recently it's been going a lot slower.

Also, there was only one train yesterday.

I noticed it going slower the last time I was on it also.
It is possible they were told to slow down the ride and to do so, it may need to stop.
Or maybe someone was standing up on the train and she had to stop it. That is why she said for everyone to stay seated during that time. Though usually they tell you to 'please sit down'.

They did the same thing last week when we were there. And no, there was no second train running. Have no idea what it was all about.

Okay, so i wasn't imagining that it's slower now.

I went on it last month and the train was going slower but didn't stop in the middle of the ride. And yesterday it didn't seem to stop because of a specific reason (like a person standing) because we saw the 2 trains before ours stop too. And it always stopped in the same place. So it seemed to be a planned stop that they do for every ride now.
