There were many other places to purchase pooh stuff including an entire store in the Disney marketplace. The difference is that the ride would sucker more people, kids especially into wanting pooh stuff by putting it fresh in their minds.
You know, back in the old days, there were no stores at the end of any ride, or if there were, they were off to the side. with pooh, the store is smack dab on the route out. The only more egregious example is Star Tours on both coasts.
And Imagination had fast moving lines even back when it was popular, before the dark times.
But never mind that, I'm foolish for believing articles quoting Disney reps on the subject. No, I should believe the fevered rememberings of an anonymous person on the internet who has no accountability to anyone. Don't believe that Disney rep, of course he's lying! I know the truth, because my opinion is FACT!
Of course, the irony is that I think Disney reps lie all the time, but the question is, what do they gain by claiming it was popular when it wasn't? Why would the Orlando sentinal say it was popular if it wasn't?
Oh, and as for the fast pass crack. They closed the fast passes on DL's pooh ride. Of course, the DL version is even more offensivly bad then the Florida version but still, it's pooh, surely it should rate really really long lines right?
