:cutie: Hooray! My DS 5 is throwing up. It's been going around the daycare and it's finally come to our house.

I wonder how long it will take to make it's way through the whole family? 2 or 3 weeks? I so look forward to the next few weeks. Waiting...wondering when my turn will come... :yay:

A woman I work with has never had the stomach flu. Boy oh boy is she missing out!

 I feel for you. My family just had it. Last week was probably the most miserable week in my life. I haven't had the stomach flu in probably 15-16 years! The stupid stomach flu ruined my no vomit streak. Grrrr. It went through our house pretty quickly. It was miserable though. Hopefully your family will be spared!

If he's vomiting, he doesn't have the flu. There is no such thing as a stomach flu...influenza is a respiratory illness, not a stomach virus. Stomach viruses are usually linked to gastroenteritis, but can also be related to food poisoning. You might want to have him go to a doctor to find out exactly what he has. In the mean time, have him drink plenty of liquids (water, broth), and try to have him eat dry foods (crackers, dry toast).

Eat any BJ's mushrooms lately?

Oh god, so NOT funny but I did chuckle :rotfl2:

Thankfully, the last stomach bug to go through the house skipped me :cool1: got DH though - he just made me want to vomit! You'd think he had the bubonic plague or something!

OP, I hope the little guy feels better soon :grouphug: , it's never fun for anyone in the house when those things start up!

It went through our house 2 weeks ago,and went very fast. It went from person #1 - followed by me 48 hrs later, followed by DS7 24 hrs after me and DH 24 hrs after DS - so in less than a week we were all done with it. It wasn't food poisoning - just the same stomach bug that's been hitting the rest of the area. We don't usually go to the dr. for something like this since there isn't much they can do about it and we don't want to spread it to others needlessly. Just take care to stay hydrated and for the first few days afterwards eat carefully - ginger ale, crackers, broth, etc...

DS6 had a nasty bout of throwing up over the weekend that ended up being caused by a bad double ear infection. We own an otoscope so we were able to discover the cause pretty quickly. If we hadn't been able to check his ears, we never would've known because he never once complained about his ears. So I wouldn't rule anything out until you know for sure!

:grouphug: There's nothing worse than a sick child. Well, other than a sick husband anyway. :rotfl: :rotfl:

One of my twin boys had it Sunday ( throwing up in the parking lot of the hockey rink) then my DD11 had it Monday and the other twin boy had it yesterday. Now just waiting for DD4 and myself. DH already had it weeks ago.

unfortunately I can relate. DD2 started Sunday night but has been fine since Tuesday morning. Tuesday night dd6 started with the vomiting. Hers is so bad that we had to go to the peds Wednesday night for a antinaseau injection. She actually slept thru the night but is back to vomiting this morning. Dh doesn't feel well but is just rather gassy and burping alot. This is dd's school vacation week. Her kindergarten aide works part time at the peds office front desk. Last April vacation she was there when I brought dd in with a broken arm. She was also there right before Thanksgiving when dd has strep throat. Yesterday she told me to keep dd locked up for April vacation this year. Now I'm glad we aren't seeing disney on ice until Sunday.

Try to keep the sick one confined to ONE bathroom and don't let anyone else in the family use it. Wash, wash, wash your hands after any contact. Scrub up to the elbows.

We had one of these bugs go through our house. So bad that my mom had to come over and help out. She never got it from us because she used a separate bathroom and she scrubbed and disinfected all surfaces (including herself!).

My 12 yo had it Monday and the 9 and 8 yo got it last night as well as my DH. I am declaring immunity!!!! :wizard:

My DD 5 started yesterday morning. SHe has not vomited since last night at 7:30. I hope it is done!!

Also, Lysol all of the doorknobs multiple times a day. My sister got a gastro bug last year from a doorknob at a friend's house. Their baby had it, and it got spread after a diaper change I guess:confused3

DH had a stomacheache for a week last week, and he had the burping symptom too. DD had the vomiting, but only for one night. I'm nervously waiting, hoping that my number will not come up this time:scared:

I am home right now because I have been sick. My son( who NEVER throws up) and mom had the whole gamet.. Throwing up ,aches and pains, etc.

I have a fever and aches and pains but no throw up. HMM wonder if its the same thing or just a less severe strain.

 i know what you mean.....DS had it one week ago, DH had it this weekend & now I'm feeling really queasy. Whee!!!!;)

Wow super cleverness!
