Thursday night I felt nauseous. Then, all Friday early morning and day I was throwing up and having diarrhea at the same time.
By Friday night the throwing up stopped and only the bathroom-going continued. I did not eat anything.

Saturday I used the bathroom A LOT. I attempted to eat, as I had nothing in my tummy. I was not really hungry so I took about 3 bites. I sat for a few minutes and by then I had to rush to the bathroom.

TMI!

The problem is, it is only liquid when I use the bathroom diarrhea.
It is not just when I eat. Every 20 minutes or so it will occur and I have to rush to the potty.

I do not have a fever or anything of that sort. My family keeps trying to get me to eat but I am not hungry. I am dizzy and weak, though. I keep drinking a lot of water to help keep hydrated.

Any ideas on what this could be?

Stomach bug - 3 of the 4 of our family were at the ER for it (needed IV fluids) - I hate to say it, but you have to let it run the course - do the "BRAT" diet for a couple of days when you resume eating - Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast.

Keep drinking as much as you are able! I ended up in the hospital dehydrated because I didn't drink enough. Hope you get to feeling better.

weren't you supposed to go out of town with another family? If so, I'm sorry you are missing the trip. Hope you get well soon.

That totally sucks! I know how you feel, I have had that happen to me twice before and it's the worst feeling in the world! Fortunately for me, it only lasts the afternoon/night...I can't imagine having to deal with it for days! I think I would go to the emergency room if it lasted any longer than it did because inevitably I end up laying on the bathroom floor at some point, with my pants around my knees just begging god for it to be over! At least you're not throwing up anymore...

Yes, I made the 8 hour trip. My sister gave me a lot of things to keep me from going. It helped some.
But I am so weak now I am no fun to go anywhere.

I am upset because we are driving down to Georgia sometime this week to the Paula Dean restaurant and I most likely will have to have them get me to-go or something back to the hotel room so I can be near a rest room.
I am craving her food too :sad1:

Hmmm...hope it's just a short illness. Happened to me but I had a fever and another gross symptom. Wouldn't go away so after 4 days I went to the Dr. I had a colonoscopy and was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Not fun at all. But, I'm hoping you will feel better soon. Like a PP said, stay on the BRAT diet until you feel better.

That sounds JUST like what I went through a few weeks ago, ended up being the Norovirus. I ended up hospitalized because I got too dehydrated.. so do your best to hydrate!

If watery diarrhea continues you should be checked for a bacteria called clostridium difficile or c. difficile which can be serious.

i get in trouble all the time around here for being straightforward. why would you ask a bunch of strangers when you need to call a doctor?

I agree with the others. I had this bug and was in the ER for it. Really bad pains! It took my a good week to get my stomach and poo(TMI) to get back to normal.

Sounds like the norovirus that is always going around cruise ships & WDW. Outbreaks are always happening around the country. Maybe you found one.

I had some nasty food poisoning a couple years ago that taught me a lot about how fast you can dehydrate. I blacked out and hit the bathroom floor. The ER doc explained how your intestinal walls do a sort of give and take with your body fluids and can very suddenly rob your body of what it needs, causing an electrolyte imbalance and then *wham* - face, meet tiles.
Never felt anything like that before, hope I never do again!
Be careful!
