I was wandering what everone else thinks about taking a bike trailer/stroller to the park. i cant remember seeing anyone else at the park with one but we are deciding on buying one. you know the kind that ataches to you bike and also turns into a stoller. i have a 3 yr old and a 6 yr old. right now it is in between a bike trailer or a stroller with a seat on the back for older kids. both are the same price. the stoller part looks like it would be usefull at the parks but i dont want to be the only one with one there.

Well, I'm not sure how the bike trailer would work as a stroller, but you want to make sure that it can collapse to be transported on planes, Disney buses and monorails and your own vehicle. Also, they only allow strollers that are pushed, not pulled, like a wagon (or trailer).

I think the sit and stand stroller would be easier to transport and use.

oh this one turns into a stroller to be pushed. and we are driving but i do like the sit and stand stroller. hmm

I don't have a bike trailer/stroller, but plenty of my neighbors do. As far as I know there is no way to collapse/fold them down. If that is the case, I don't think they'd be allowed on the Disney busses and not really usable for a car trunk. I am certain they wouldn't allow that as a gate check stroller.
I love the idea of a bike trailer and really want one for myself. However, I'd select something different for Disney.

Also, you might want to look on craigslist or find the bike trailer (or Disney stroller) used.

The older, plastic shelled type don't collapse, but nearly all the newer ones do. Ours (Bell brand) collapsed nice and flat (wheels came off too). It still seems like it's be kind of a hassle- size wise- for planes and buses, though! And I'd be concermed about the front wheel when pushing through the parks since they stick out so far.

not sure butI think I read somewhere that WDW does not allow the bike trailer strollers.
Will see if I can find where I saw that.

That was my first thought. I'd look into something else if possible.

For use with a bike--I loved my Bell. I'm sad kids can't fit in it anymore. We never used it as a stroller though.

I think the bike strollers would be great IF they didn't stick out so far in front. I can just picture kids and adults alike tripping over that front wheel even when the crowds are thinner. I would go with a sit & stand stroller!

our bike stroller, we take the front part off (so it doesn't stick out anymore). It is easily balanced & pushed that way. The only issue is parking it, it rests forward, but still easily moved.

Aa long as the stroller isn't too big - here's the rules list from the WDW website:

Q. Are there any personal items I should not bring with me into the Theme Parks?

A. Items that you may not bring into the Theme Parks include, but are not limited to:

Items with wheels, such as wagons, skateboards, scooters, inline skates, shoes with built-in wheels, two-wheeled or three-wheeled conveyances, strollers larger than 36" x 52", suitcases, coolers, or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations), and any trailer-like object that is pushed or towed by an ECV wheelchair or stroller
Alcoholic beverages
Weapons of any kind
Folding chairs
Glass containers (excluding baby food jars and perfume bottles)
Pets (unless they are service animals)
In Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park (for the safety of the wildlife), balloons, straws and drink lids are not permitted.

Note: Guests are not permitted to pull items behind them. Any item that requires a Guest to pull it behind them, including a stroller, is not permitted into the Park.
