Do you have a stroller that is perfect for airplane travel and WDW?

I have a Graco but it is kind of big but I like that it reclines, has a good shade, cup holders and a good size basket underneath. Is there anything out there more compact that might have a basket and good shade? My daughter is 9 months old so I want something comfortable yet travel friendly.

I want to bring my Graco but my husband thinks it's too bulky.

Thanks!

Maclaren strollers are the umbrella type but they recline, have a good size basket underneath and are also very light. I had never heard of a Maclaren stroller until after our first trip to WDW, but by our 2nd trip I had purchased the Maclaren Triump. The one thing that is really nice about the stroller is that it only weights 11 pounds and the arms to the stroller are taller so that my DH (6'4) doesn't have a problem pushing the stroller also, esp. backaches! Oh, they are also very easy to push, it can be done one handed without a problem. I bought my stroller from the internet, Ebay also sells them as well as Babies r Us and I think Target sells them also. I hope the info helps you out, if you have any ?'s just ask.

We are taking our Graco (may be the same type as yours). Definitely take it since you are flying---you can use it right up to the door of the plane and gate check it.

A Mac Quest... we didn't buy ours until DD was 5 but it's the stroller I wish I'd bought when she was a baby!
I went thru strollers like some people go thru kleenex and always had a full size stroller with us wherever we went but our maclaren quest features easily equal or exceed every deluxe stroller we've owned.
See my other post of today for specific reasons why I like our pink fluer quest so much.
I've never gushed about a stroller before but while pushing it over rough ground and tight walkways at a festival here at home last weekend I turned to DH to tell him how great it was to have both the vehicles I have to drive (the quest stroller & the minivan we purchased a few weeks ago) be so easy to manage and fun to take out...

We just too our BOB to disney 2 weeks ago and it did GREAT. It folds up practically flat (and you can pull the wheels off for even easier storage. It also holds kids up to 70lbs. The only "problem" with it is that it is expensive (at $360). It also is really light to pick up and super easy to push.

I second the Maclaren Triumph. We brought it for our last trip to WDW. It was light weight, had the shade, a small basket below for stuff, folds up small, steers GREAT, taller than cheapy umbrella strollers, reclines, and has a shoulder strap! We loved it, no complaints at all!! :thumbsup2

We just purchased the Maclaren Quest and it is the BEST stroller we have ever had. Sooo easy to push, very light to carry, nice canopy, reclines great, 5 point harness, ect.. I could go on and on;)

Thank you for your replies! :thumbsup2

I'm going to check out the Maclarens at Babies R Us. I looked at them online and they look very nice. I was just wondering if anyone has concerns about leaving a $200+ stroller outside of rides and restaurants at WDW. I'm a little nervous about that. My friend had her Perego stolen while they were at lunch at CRT.:sad2:

I did think about it being stolen while we were there but have had no problems. There always seem to be quite a few others parked around me too so it does sometimes blend in but I rarely see them back here at home.

Why not test drive the strollers at Babies r us and then check out ebay seller - maxoty - (I think I can say that, if not though please let me know and I'll edit to delete).
I had initially bought at babies r us to be sure we had it in time for the trip but when I saw he had one listed for half the price I ordered one from him too.
The ebay stroller arrived brand new in the box and was packaged exactly like the Babies R us stroller which I returned before we left for vacation. The price difference was enough for another character meal.
He has quite a few new strollers listed each week at great prices.

For those of you who have used the Maclaren in WDW, did the shade really block a lot of the sun? The shade on my Graco is great and the ones on the Maclarens looked kind of small.

I want to buy the Maclaren for it's size and ease of folding up for the boats and monorail but I love the reclining positions and shade on the Graco but it's so darn bulky!

One more thing. I saw a Maclaren Quest and a Maclaren Quest Mod. Does anyone recommend one over the other?

I like my Peg Perego Pliko P3.

Both DH and I have an unusual stride (I guess...) because we kick the wheels on EVERY single umbrella type stroller. That includes the Maclarens. You need to 'drive' the stroller around the store like you'd walk outside. Full pace/step.

The P3 is the only one we both didn't kick the wheels on.

LOVE the LARGE hood/canopy. Great recline. Easy to fold/unfold (at least compared to our Evenflo travel system!).

You need to try them and see which works best for YOU and your child. That is the final answer. Just because it (any specific stroller) works awesome for 'Jane' doesn't mean it is the right one for you.

Regardless of what stroller you buy, I'd recommend THIS stroller bag - it's cheap but sturdy. Will help protect your investment when you gate check the stroller!! The baggage handlers can be real rough.
HERE's a thread that talks about this bag a lot.

Personally, while I LOVE my maclaren, when my kids were 9 months I preferred having my full size. I felt it offered more shade protection, had a tray for their cheerios/puffs or ice to play with when it was really hot, had a larger basket for all the extra baby stuff, had a parent tray, etc. I agree that it is a little bulky, but to me it was worth it for the baby to be nice and comfy.

Another vote for the MacLaren Quest. You'll get a lot of use out of it!

You might want to check out ebay they have some really great prices on all of the macs and you might find a color or pattern you like better. They also have quite a few 2006 technos for 150 (180 with shipping).
