Stolen Strollers?

Are you suggesting asking CMs not to move your stroller to make room for wheel chairs and other strollers?

Ask where you can put the stroller so it's out of the way and won't have to be moved. Assume items get rotated. Be prepared to walk
Yes I would have no trouble asking where is an appropriate location to securely (as possible) place my expensive stroller so as not to allow it to be stolen by some miscreant …

I don’t think strollers are a huge target, it’s the items leave on the strollers when they enter a ride. I have seen people leave camera bags, items purchased from stores, backpacks filled with who knows what. They take the stroller and bring it to a quiet place where they can go through the items.
There are ways to make the savages that do this easily and readily identifiable to security and the police …. Before I make my grand kid ride around in some cheap umbrella stroller all day I will make it extremely uncomfortable for any potential thieving vermin, a valuable lesson in civility will be proffered …. This is our world

Hearing stories of strollers being stolen inside the parks? Is this really a thing? We will be taking our first trip with our new granddaughter this year and will be using a stroller for the first time in many years. I understand it’s not wise to let anything of value unattended in a stroller but to completely steal the entire stroller? Come on man! We supposedly live in a society!
Kinda weird to pay 150 bucks to steal a stroller.

This pic is old but still very relevant. Can strollers be stollen? Yes. Is it common, NO. It's kinda like winning a reverse lottery.

Many years ago right after Christmas we brought our new bob jogging stroller to the park with our 2 year old. We went on pirates and returned to our stroller missing. The CM who was shuffling strollers around could not locate it. The only thing on it was a diaper bag and some snacks. The only thing I did was lock the rear wheels together with a snowboard lock and zip tie a name tag to the handle. At the end of the night a CM called us and said they located our stroller at haunted mansion. Whoever stole at had to wheel it over there on the front wheels. Only thing missing was the food.

Word of advice is not to bring an expensive stroller into the park

You can't lock the wheels anymore. I saw a family trying to put a bicycle lock on their stroller this past summer and the CM told them that was not permitted and to remove it. They family refused. The CM told them that the lock would be cut off and the stroller moved anyway. I didn't hang around long enough to find out where the conversation went from there.

Probably AP, but I suspect this isn't a big issue in general. If anyone wants to get worked up over it though then they can have a blast.
I do get worked up over crime and criminal animals… sorry not sorry

Talk about borrowing worry, thousands of strollers don’t get stolen at Disney every day. Don’t bring your $1000+ stroller, don’t leave valuables in it, don’t park it like a moron, put some identification on it.
Orrrrrr perhaps the criminal element can leave their thieving uncivilized actions at home … what a novel approach … I don’t dismiss this, one crime is too many

I wouldn’t use a lock

It’s more common than anyone would probably know thus the reason for folks posting about the thefts which happened to bring it to my attention ….

The reason why strollers often get stolen at Disney Parks is they have always been magnets for thieves to steal mainly because something is hanging from the handle which is usually a diaper bag and when you get the general picture the only things found in a diaper bag is a baby bottle diapers the occasionally baby toys such as a rattle or the baby's favorite plushie and baby wipes "Which in my eyes is the most common thing stolen from a stroller with a diaper bag" What I think parents should do when they take infants to Disney Parks is when they take the baby's stroller is put your family's name on a tag and attach it to the stroller and if you have a diaper bag put your baby's name on the inside of the bag "much like parents do with children's backpacks when the children are going to school" and parents wouldn't have to deal with stolen strollers. It also helps if people ask this question before boarding a ride "Excuse Me would you please not move our baby stroller please" and that would help a lot because I think the cast members like moving strollers to make room for wheelchairs and other strollers of people who are also riding the rides
Ummm, CM's often have to move strollers to keep them organized and not becoming a safety issue (blocked walkways). As people get off attractions and people return for their strollers, they get a little unruly. To keep walkways open for all guests, CM's have to reorganize strollers and this often involves moving them. Yes, they have to move strollers to "make room for wheelchairs and other strollers of people". In many instances, not moving a stroller is NOT an option. And trust me, no CM likes having to do the "stroller" position.

It is rare that a stroller is stolen, it happens, but it's not a frequent thing. If you are that worried about your stroller being stolen, rent one at the park. If it goes missing, you go back to the stroller rental and get another one.

Our friend had her stroller stolen at Disney when we were with her. It was before the pandemic. It was a very expensive stroller, and it was for her granddaughter. It turns out that there was a ring of stroller thieves.

Stroller rental companies started putting GPS devices on the strollers to track them. But it used to be a problem years ago.

Yes, this ring was mentioned above. Fortunately they were caught. And I'd never bring an expensive stroller to WDW. I'd more worry about the airline damaging it!

how rare is it? No thanks on the rental when I have a perfectly good stroller of our own … really surprised at the dismissiveness of the criminal element … we don’t have to live like this …

Accidents and damage are understandable they happen … theft should never happen nor be dismissed as part of doing business in a civilized law and order society

I was a theme park manager at WDW for over 5 years and I think I had one true stolen stroller. And it ended up being found in the MK parking lot at closing (someone did take it and most likely used it for the day). Most were strollers that were moved. Now items being stolen from strollers? Yes, that definitely happens. Not a good idea to leave a $700 digital camera in a stroller... And the squirrels (or rats at DAK) would often steal food.
