Hi all,
A friend of mine had hopper passes (old) and recently went to pack them for her next trip, but they were gone. She purchased them at the parks for her next trip and luckily photocopied the fronts and back of each ticket. Here's my question: if the tickets were actually stolen or lost then found by someone and used up, will Disney still replace her passes for her? I assume that passes can be tracked by the codes on the backs--what if the thief/thieves have already used them? Does the orginal owner have any rights or is it just a "too bad" situation?

Good call on the photocopying!! Provided the tickets have not been used yet, Disney will replace them. If they have already been used, there's not much Disney can do for you. As far as Disney's concerned, there's really no proof that your friend just didn't use them and is just saying that they were stolen.

Thanks for the info., I'll pass it on. So if the tickets have not been used yet, they can most probably be replaced. I suppose that means that if the thief tries to use the original tickets after that they will be worthless? Or can they even track it so that the person(s) trying to use the originals are apprehended (that's probably expecting too much)?

If they haven't been used up Disney will issue new ones and cancel the old ones. Don't think there is a way to catch them but they wouldn't be able to go into the park.
