stolen items

With the amount of things to do on ship and off, it's no wonder that we can somethings forget our documents. Nothing "knuckleheaded" about that!!

I always felt very secure with our host/hostess. Considering that a thief would be immediately dismissed and given a very bad reference, it really would take a lot for someone to steal - but that's what the safe is for!

I had both my Leatherman Tools taken from my checked luggage. We found a receipt later in our stateroom and could pick them up after disembarkation in the terminal. They were obviously afraid that I would take the ship apart with them pirate: It's ridiculous considering all the knives one could steal in the restaurants

Ahhh, and I bet you look like a criminal type........just like my 75 year old Mom! Personally there is nothing better than a butter knife to take things apart.....

Mom had a small paring knife to cut her fruit and that was taken by the host/hostess with a note that it would be returned after the cruise. I guess a 75 year old woman with dentures and a small paring knife is a pretty serious security threat!

It was left in the bathroom. Next time we will lock it up in the safe with all the other "valuables"!!!

Will they take away a plastic knife? will they bring you a knife with the fruit bowl? I have a kid who likes fruit cut up I was planing on it for a snack as we were getiing ready for dinner . Can I "borrow" one from the dining room for the week. (you know sneak it out and then leave it in the room on the last day?)

The policy is clearly spelled out:

What Not to Pack:
Weapons
Firearms (including ammunition), knives (including dive knives), swords, daggers, or any other types of weapons are not allowed on board, under any circumstances. If Guests have any of these or similar items in their baggage or on their person, they will be required to surrender the item(s) to Port Security until their return to Port Canaveral.

Red71, there are plastic knives available at the various counter service spots on deck 9. They'll also bring utensils with your room service order. :D

We sailed last November on the Wonder. We took my 21 yr old neice who was a Radio Disney castmember. Just prior to her trip, she received a very nice, castmember only, red Radio Disney fleece. Best we can figure is she left it on the back of a pool chair and someone helped themselves when she went to get a pop. I thought that was very rude. I called DCL every day for about a week, and it was not turned back in.

That same trip (but at WDW) we took off ds's WDW sweatshirt and it was left on a bench by the boat dock going from MK to WL. We realized it was missing just after the boat pulled away and we actually went STRAIGHT back on that boat to the MK. It was gone. Lost and found did not have it. I called every day and it was not turned in. At the going price for WDW sweatshirts, this was very disheartening.

When traveling we like to take along those plastic tie wraps. We simply put our valuable to big for the safe, in our luggage and use a tie wrap to secure the zipper.
