Hi Everyone

We have just returned from our first ever 5 day trip with my kids and baby and had a fantastic time. I never knew life could be so perfect until then. I cant imagine a time we were all happier, even the kids (7 & 5) were so overwhelmed and shattered they behaved like angels! However it all went downhill from landing back at Dover and we were stuck in traffic jams all the way up to Northamptonshire. Unfortunately we decided to stop at Watford Gap services and whilst I left my bag briefly in the baby change someone had been in and stole my partners phone and our camera.

We can handle the fact that the phone and camera itself are replaceable however we have so many memories of the park that will be forgotton by the children and they are very upset. I was thinking of secretly putting together an album of random park photos for them as a surprise. If anyone has any photos of the park/explorers hotel/disney village etc then would they be able to email me? Im not sure if Im allowed to post my email address on here so if anyone would like it please PM me.

And Im not going to let these low lifes ruin what was the perfect holiday, they've just made me more determined to pull together what we can and return in December!

Still cant believe we've never been before now!:wizard::wizard::wizard:

PS I would do a trip report but its all a bit of a blur and without the photos its hard to piece together however Id like to personally thank the cast member who did the rope drop in Frontierland on the 6th June! He was absolutely fantastic and made sure my kids (dressed as Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth) had the most magical first day in Disney!

That's really sad, at least they can't take your memories away and it sounds like you had a fantastic trip.

You can get hi res photos of the resort on the photos magiques website.

They even have some of the explorers.

If you can think of something specific you'd like a picture of, I could TRY to snap it for you. We will be there this Sunday through Friday.
I say TRY because with two 3 year olds, you can't plan anything. Just have to go with the flow! :)
So sorry about your pictures. :( :( :(
Rachel

thats a great idea to make an album of pictures :goodvibes - it will remind the kids of what they were doing when they were at certain places around the parks/hotel.

I love the CMs at the POTC the ride - love the costumes, and they all seem to get into the Pirate spirit.

So sorry to hear about your things being stolen. Theres no accounting for peoples :confused3
I think your album idea is great. Im on facebook (type in kizzabel or kizzy bookle) and there 3 DLP albums if you want any of my pics, feel free

So happy yo loved DLP. Please dont hesitate to fill us in on your highs and lows and what meals you enjoyed!

Oh no that's terrible ...there really are some lowlifes about :sad2:

If you want to snag any of mine, feel free and if you would like a picture of something in particulaire I'm going again end of next week (if weather stays good and I don't put my back out again) and would be more than happy to take a few for you :flower3:

plus lots on the restaurant threads lol

Oh that is so sad! I really feel for you I love having lots of photos and they mean a lot to me is there anything perticular you wanted a picture of and I can have a look our last two trips have been in cold wet weather though so may look a bit out of place if you had nice weather last week.

Can I just ask how old is your baby? We are going in September our little girl will be 6 months. I just wanted to know how you felt going with a baby?

xxx

So glad you all had such a wonderful trip and have been bitten by the bug :cool1:

So sad that someone would do that to you though, i can imagine how heart breaking it must be to lose so many precious pictures

I'm also on Facebook (Jemma Tizard), lots of Disneyland albums, not sure if any pictures would be any good but if they are please fee free :goodvibes

Such a shame, I hope you get all the pics you need and the lowlifes get what they deserve one day.

Look on the positive side. You now have a great excuse to go back.!

Glad to hear that you had a wonderful trip but a shame about the stolen camera .

I'd be happy to post up a link to any particular photos you would like for the photo album. Castle, rides, characters etc Just post up what you are looking for?

Thankyou everyone! An overwhelming response!

Im still working through the photos magique site but I will definate look through everyones once Iv finished! Its heartbreaking because there are so many mini photos that would have been lovely. We are not a family that take anywhere near enough photos and in the 4 years me and OH have been together we have about 2 together!

In response to my son, he's 5/6 months old. The baby swap system is brilliant and the staff are brilliant on it however get full details on it from who ever you ask as the member of staff at the end of the gate usually has a different idea of how the baby swap system works especially on RC racer! The buggy was a bit of a nightmare we have a full sized Mamas and Papas Ultima and being so young we refused to put him in a buggy but the parks were quiet and apart from stuggling in Annettes etc to find space with the buggy it was fine. We even found plenty of spaces on the buses each day! I took Oscar on the carousel and its a small world and he loves both. I could have even took him on a few others like Its a Small World. He also went on the Studio Tram Tour in Walk Disney even though the staff warn you its not reccomended because of the loud noises (it was no louder than his brother and sister)!

Reccomendations of restaurants definately Agrabah, Annettes, Cafe Mickey and the Rainforest Cafe. Agrabah was a lovely change, Annettes we went in twice for tea and once at lunch for there massive American Breakfast :-)! Kids loved having an adults portion and we pinched the bacon! Cafe Mickey was lovely, the Fantasia Mushrooms I could live off for the rest of my life... The pepper sauce on the steak was by far the best I have ever had in my life! The character interaction was once an hour and we saw a few families leave without seeing the characters however we held on. And boy was it worth it. We are glad we went around 4 when it was quieter as the characters spent ages playing with my baby and as he's teething Goofy was trying to put his finger in his mouth! The Rainforest cafe was again very different, the atmosphere in there is amazing. My partner had the fajitas and said it was his favourite meal he'd ever had and I had the steak and the same pepper sauce from cafe Mickey. We wanted to eat at Planet Hollywood but we are saving that for next time! The only one I would say to avoid at all costs is Pizza Planet. It was like eating in the dirtiest Food Court you have ever seen. The food was bland and we left feeling ill and felt ill for the rest of the day. There were 3 types of pizza, ham and olives, 4 cheese and bolognaise and I swear to god all 3 tasted the same! We thought for the price we wouldnt be too fussy however I would not eat this meal again if I had been given it for free!

The Explorers upgraded us to a suite too so we had a living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms etc and it was absolutely fantastic. What with Salon Mickey and my kids getting fast tracks because of there costumes we felt like VIPs!

So jealous I cant live there!

I am so sorry to hear about your camera. :sad2:
Do let me know if there is any particular picture you need i'm off in a couple of weeks and i will try and get it for you. i'm not the best photographer but i can deffinetly try for you.

Sorry to hear your camera got stolen but as someone else has said you still have your memories and now you have the perfect excuse to revisit sooner rather than later!

Thankyou again everyone and yes its definately made me more determined to go back!!!

Just a few quick questions if anyone's still reading Iv downloaded some pics from the Photomagiques site but I could only do it as a html file and Iv no idea how to get it to a jpg. Has anyone done this?

Also Im thinking of returning to Cheyenne simply for the proximity to the Disney Village compared to the Explorers, we dont mind walking and would do anything to avoid buses lol! We also quite fancy the buffet at the Cheyenne. However as we have annual passes and shareholders am I right in believing its cheaper to book the hotel with 1 adult and 2 kids under 7 and then add the other adult on after Iv booked and an 8 year old? One of my kids is a baby (will be 11 months) and Im presuming I can have 2 adults, 2 kids and a travel cot in the rooms.

Any advice would be great! Thanks everyone you've all been great! Plus this trip is going to be a secret one even for my OH!!! So Iv no one to bounce ideas off!!!

Sorry to hear about what happened :(

You can take as many pics from my Disney folder as you want :)

If any have watermarks on, just message me and i'll send you a non marked file (I think it's just my panoramic, but if you want that its in my signature on here)

I have a billion other photos but i've not edited them yet :(

So sorry to hear about your camera but glad you're not letting it spoil your trip.

I posted a few photos of the Explorers in the Hotel FAQ - please help yourself to them.

Glad to hear you got on well with taking your little one!

We wont be using the baby swap as DH is scared of rides and he wouldnt want to go on there any way and we are going in a group of 8 adults so plenty of people to look after her :D

Aw I cant wait to take elsie on the carousel :D

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
