This will be our first trip to OKW we are going in Jan and will not have a car I am wondering what the best thing to do about food. I am traveling with DH, DD 18, DD Friend 18, DS 3 DD 4 I want to try and do breakfast snacks and some lunches at the room but am not sure what to do any suggestions would be great I am almost wondering if I should pack a suitcase from home with food.

Depending on how you are getting there from the airport, perhaps you could schedule a grocery stop. Haven't been to OKW yet, but there is probably a small convenience store onsite for milk and other breakfast items. You could pack food, or schedule a taxi to take you to the nearest store. There is also a grocery delivery service, I think its something like wegoshop .

We usually rent a car and do our grocery shopping after our room is ready. This last time, it just seemed like a hassle. Maybe it was because I knew about wegoshop, and didn't take advantage of it. I am planning to use wegoshop.com on our next trip. I think they charge a $15 or $20 delivery fee and bring the groceries to the room

The type of items I usually stock for the week (we usually plan to eat breakfast in the room and need some snacks): cereal, milk, eggs, sausage, bread, butter, bottled water, soda, fruit, chips, beer.

If you are driving, then pack a cooler or a Rubbermaid container with whatever food you would like to have in your room.

If you are flying, there are several options:
1. Buy food at OKW's little store. They have a decent selection, it is more expensive than a regular grocery store, but not totally outrageous. This way, you won't have to worry about how you'd get to the store...it's right there.
2. If you have a car, I would drive to one of the local groceries stores. Publix is on SR 192. For Winn Dixie, go past DTD on Hotel Plaza Boulevard, when you get to the WDW gate, take a left, go down that road about 5-10 minutes and the store will be on the right.
3. If you are having a private limo pick you up, then schedule a grocery stop with it. OKW will refrigerate any perishables for you until your room is ready.
4. Take a taxi to the grocery store.

Thank everyone now I can add these options to my planning book we are going to try and save a little on food and make when we do eat out all that more fun
:goodvibes
