Need to get going on my plans for September, dontcha know?! We are staying at the Poly, hopefully with a fridge in the room. I want to stock it with breakfast stuff so we can have a bite to eat before we hit the parks EARLY! Can I buy breakfast stuff somewhere at the resort? We will be whisked to WDW on the magical express, so I can't stop off to pick up food.

Thanks for the help,

NB

There's a delivery service in Orlando called Wegoshop. Many DISer have used them and were pleased with the service. I plan to try them in April.

Here's a link to some of the threads about their service.

I'd also like to know a store between the airport and WDW that is easy to get to and back on the highway from and has good fresh fruit.

Keep in mind that those fridges are VERY small. I'm not sure a gallon of milk will fit, half gallon will. You can get about a half gallon of milk, a couple yogurts, and two soda's in, that's about it. So be careful not to buy too much that needs to be kept cold.

As far as good fruit, Albertsons on South OBT is your best bet. Get off the Greenway (417) exit 11 onto South Orange Blossom Trail (17-92). Head North (I think it's a left at the end of the ramp) and Albertsons is on the right.

FYI - Albertson's accepts faxed ahead orders so you just pick up your order at customer service and pay. You can fax it up to a couple days ahead of time but I'd call the day before to confirm your order. If you forgot something you can add it before you check out. The fax # is 407-857-0132 (phone is 407-857-5666).

Is Albertons a 24 hour store? We have a late flight, getting in around 11:00 pm, so it would be late by the time we got there. Will most town car services stop that late? I guess if I has already faxed the order, it would only take a few minutes to run in and pay. Sounds like a great idea to fax ahead!

You could call (see phone number above) or check out their website for hours of individual stores (www.albertsons.com). I think most of the limo services will stop b/c the Albertson's on S. Orange Blossom Trail is on the route most of them use from the airport to the WDW resorts.

checked on the web, the albertson's noted above is open till 1 am. Looks real convenient to the highway to WDW

There is a Publix at the junction of the 192 and SR 535. It's at most 10 minutes from WDW and close to the junction of the 417 Greenaway (airport toll road).

There is also a Goodings at Crossroads, but this is quite a bit more expensive than most of the other supermarkets in the area.

Have all the Albertson's now reopened? I thought all their stores had closed for refurb and were coming back under a different (cheaper/lower market) brand name?

Another vote for Publix- they sell the best store brand OJ It is like fresh squeezed. We love it. We hit the same one the other person posted- check out mapquest on how to get there though because there is a very direct route but I can't remember the name of the road you take(I think it is Oceola hwy)

I would go to the Fountain View bakery in Epcot or the Boardwalk bakery and get things to keep in the room for breakfast there. Bowls of cereal, etc. for breakfast on vacation at Disney World?!? BO-RING!

I personally eat a caramel apple EVERY MORNING for breakfast at Disney World  . The Mayor of Main Street saw me every morning at opening for 8 days getting an apple from the Main Street Confectionery. Everyday, he would say "There he is, with his healthy breakfast again!" It was great!
