Stocking Stuffers

Hello Friends. Ive never posted on the Budget Board. This is my first post here. I originally posted this in the community board because I didn't realize we could post none disney related topics in the budget board. From the description it sounds like it is about budgeting for a vacation LOL. Anyway...

We just had our first baby, well he's actually 5 month old, but he's still new to us LOL. Beacause we are on a budget (diapers and formula are expensive) and I was just releaved of one of my two jobs, we are trying to do things a little inexpensive this year. I'm looking for ideas for stocking stuffers that are cheap but not something that is junky and will just get thrown out. Any ideas?? I'm shopping for my husband and nieces and nephews ranging in age from 6-14yrs.

Have you tried the Dollar Spot at Target? I recently got hair accessories, boxes of Mrs. Field's chocolates in several varieties, and Hello Kitty pens and small notebooks--all for $1 each. Someone else reported finding lots of Disney things there recently.

Alot of what I put in stockings is what I'd be buying anyway- tooth brush (i'd get the kids fun character ones when they were little), deodorant, cologne sprays, something for a fun soap, funny pair of socks....

The Dollar Tree I like because you can get multi packs of lip balms and E.L.F make-up which my nieces like. Your nephews I bet would like the DR Wacko lab stuff from the toy section there - "snow" in a test tube, diving sub that uses baking soda. Not everything there is "junky" and I bet you can get a lot there.

I do a little bit of the "throw away" stuff like tubes of glow sticks but try to avoid the stuff that gets tossed aside and never touched again (ie $1 plastic slinky)

The rest is usable things - toothpaste, candy, gum, toothbrush, chapstick, lotion, bubble bath, etc.

Everything in the stocking gets wrapped - makes it last longer
