The stocking stuffers for guys thread was so great that I thought I'd ask if you had any ideas for the gals on your list?

I often do fingernail polish, lip gloss or lip balm, hair stuff, lotions, jewelry. What else do you throw in besides candy?

We do secret stockings for the adults where everyone draws a name and does a stocking for that person.

For the ladies, I have given cute dish towels or pot holders, kitchen gadgets or utensils, recipe cards, notepads, small picture frames, candles, and drawer sachets.

Votives or tealights
Sudoku
bubble bath
hair ties
fun pens or pencils
small scrapbook items-stickers, die cuts, etc
magnets

I used to go all out on the stocking stuffers for my DDs (21 & 14), now I just put there smaller gifts and some candy in their stockings. Usually dvds, or perfume, whatever will fit in it. Gift cards are always a plus in my house. I like to carry Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts gift cards in the car with me.

Some of the ideas that have been used in our home
Cd's
I-Tune Cards
Toiletries
Nail Polish & Manicure/ Pedicure stuff
travel kit (small bottles, travel toothbrush)
Novelty socks
Inexpensive figurine (dollar store variety) or small snow globe for those who collect those knick knack
A personalized Christmas ornament
A mini alarm clock for the chronically late
Fashion jewellry
Hair Accessories
Brush
Cell phone cards
Puzzle book

OK...I do stockings for my Mom (70) and Grandmother (92) so they're geared for the "mature" ladies out there. ;)

Flameless Candle Refills (can't use real candles because of oxygen)
Denture stuff (exciting, I know)
Playing Cards
CD's
DVD's
Gift Cards to fast food
Coffee Singles or One-Pot Coffee Packs
Tea Bags
Cute Socks - decorative for Mom or the grippy kind for Nana
Candy
Vitamins
Dish Towels, Kitchen Goodies

If anyone has ideas for an older gals stocking I'd be happy to hear them since I'm tired of the same old stuff! (so are they probably) ;)

My DH puts in my favorite perfume.
lottery tickets
chocolate covered cherries.
Bath and Body lotions
bubble bath
new slippers (yes my feet are always cold)
book

CHOCOLATE
scratch tickets
CD's
Small Calgon Spray for car- for me
Yankee Car Jar- for car
Fun pens
Pencil Puzzle books
Paperback book
Handheld game- last year was Yatzee. It is my favorite so far.

Hmmm, let's see, things I've gotten in my stocking that were a huge hit....

cross stitch books and embroidery floss (I used to cross stitch a lot)
beads, wire, findings, books (I'm into making beaded flowers, jewelry and 3D objects)
tools, thread, needles, glue, and other misc jewelry making supplies
scented gift sets (ONE year, I was actually given a set on Christmas day, the others I bought for myself on clearance, lol)

If I think of anything else, I'll come back :D

Hey, should someone start a thread for what NOT to give?

It just occured to me that after all the work many women end up doing for the holidays -- shopping, baking, cleaning, arranging, diplomacy, teeth gritting -- that the best thing to put in their stockings would be peppermint foot lotion and many, many little bottles of liquor.

I want you to make my stocking!!!

Something I'm putting in each of my kids stocking (an my own ;) ) this year are B&BW Sweetest Softest Sleep Socks. Even my sons are getting a pair, they rub my feet when I wear mine and they keep asking for some.

Some other good things:
headphones
jewelry
nail polish
hair brush
water bottle (maybe, might be too big)
carabiner clips (I use these for all kinds of stuff)
pretty stationary
