Stitch's Ride=What's the point?

Yeah I think in this way they failed... since normally they are making something up from scratch, that's how the stories make sense! In this show you can definatly tell if youve been on AE that they are just trying to 'overlay' it.
Also AE was amazing! Really amazing. I miss it

PS: I LOVE stitch! (my car is the stitchmobile... I have 5 stitches on/in it... I look so dorky driving down the street) Buuut... I think this does hiom no justice because it isnt well executed and it is again, an overlay of someone else's story. I hate the fact that this is supposed to be pre-Lilo and his name is Stitch!!! It doesnt make sense!!

For what is worth, my 6yo loves the ride. I can take it or leave it but I can take or leave a lot of the rides at MK. If I had to choose between stitch and jungle cruise I'd prolly take stitch.

Tiny, your sig about pot is very misleading and totally untrue. I think if your trying to convince others to not smoke pot its very self-defeating. A little research will show you that your numbers are way off and a lot more than 2 percent choose not to smoke pot. I understand what your trying to do, but consider checking the numbers and that you might be doing more harm than good.

I dont agree and I obviously didnt write it myself. Also most kids I know have tried it. It includes anyone that has ever tried it. It is encouraging people to speak up and be proud that they havent.

Yeah, yeah, we all hate Stitch, blah, blah, blah... What I don't get its why Stitch gets such a bad rap. I mean, what is the point of any attraction? What makes Stitch so bad in comparison to anything else? No, it's not a ride, it's not supposed to be. Yes, it is a tamed down version of Alien Encounter, but so what? IMO, there's nothing wrong with Stitch. It's not my favorite attraction but it's certainly not my least favorite either.

I actually like it. I think it is cute (but then again, I do love Stitch).

I never rode AE, so I can't compare.

I figure some people like El Rio de Tiempo (I think THAT is a silly ride) and I like Stitch. It's a wash in the end.

I like the attraction too. But I do have to admit that i'm a big Stitch fan. I think the attraction is pretty funny but obviously not my favourite one. I give it 2 thumbs up for Stitch's audioanimatronic though, its really amazing!

It's hard for me to find a Disney attraction I don't care for but I really dislike Stitch. I am hoping that they will realize it's lame in the near future, level it, and start again. Bring back Alien Encounter!

I saw the previews of Stitch and was one of the early nay-sayers.

However, I think it has developed into quite a charming little show with the slight updates they made last year. They changed a few bits of dialouge, reordered some of the effects, and it feels a bit more cohesive now.

It's not a "ride", and in essence it's just a meet-n-greet for Stitch. A very expensive one, LOL. Stitch was a popular character (still is, in some circles) and people wanted to see him a bit more like he is in the films instead of as a big walk-around character that can't do many things that are "stitch" like.

I think it's fun to do these days because it's nice and A/C in there, and it is fun if you aren't looking for anything too profound and their isn't a long line.

I too miss Alien Encounter, but you have to remember : they got complaints from people EVERY DAY about the intensity of it. Yes, these are the stupid sheeple who can't read a warning sign to save their lives, but that attraction got so many steady complaints for years it was just a relief for guest relations to not have to hear about it any more. It's just too bad they couldn't have sent it over to MGM instead.

I love this attraction. The point is you are a Galactic Federation recruit and a Level 3 alien gets teleported. Stitch, the Level 3, happens to escape, and mayhem pursues.

Mayhem? I'm sorry, but mayhem was feeling the alien breath on your necks, and drool on you. Mayhem was the alien eating a guy directly over you and the "blood" falling on top of you...Mayhem was the creepy sounds of the theatre creeking. The ONLY thing that happens is when Stitch "jumps" on the audience...but it doesn't even feel like it. No, AE was one of the best "thrill rides" in WDW. They took it out to bore audiences...

Sorry, but the only 2x I was "on" it, that was broken too.

The last time I waited (for the kids) and their was no air conditioning. The ride had broken down (I'm not sure if that is the correct terminology for a nonride) and they kept squeezing people in. I am massively claustrophobic and without proper ventilation, all I could smell was chili dogs. Yuckypoo!!!! I am a real Stitch fan (even have a guinea pig named Stitch) and I couldn't stand it one moment longer. In a sense of panic, I ran through the exit door -- never to return. Since I had already seen the nonride, I knew I wasn't missing anything.

As has already been stated, it's a low cost retooling of the unpopular Alien Encounter attraction. AE was so bad that when Eisner tried it, he ordered it closed until they could "plus" it. I saw it before and after and didn't notice any significant changes. I have been totally unimpressed with the original AE, the retooled AE, and the Stitch version. Of course, I'm one of those freaks that enjoys Carousel of Progress, so my opinion should be heavily discounted.

I'm sorry I never got to see AE - I probably would have liked it. Not having to compare Stitch to AE, I kind of like Stitch ... thought the chili burp was FUN ... but my neighbor HATED it ... thought it was disgusting, etc...

i guess im part of the few who actually love this ride. But im also a big stitch fan. Its just the same as alien encounter. The Magic Kingdom is mostly directed for little kids we have to remember (even though im 17 and i love it and perfer it over any park...and yes i am a roller coaster fanatic) AE was to scary for the park and just didnt fit in right. Stitch is just a scaled down version. So it dosent have the scare factor as AE did. But MK isnt all about the scare factor. So they just downed the ride some. Its the exact same ride but with stitch. I dont see any problem...

Maybe we are in the minority, but we love the Stitch attraction. Our daughter asked to go on it again and again. We went on the AE when it was in existence, I think this one is much better since kids can go on it and not get too scared.

I am told that I went on AE in Disneyland about 5 years ago, but I really can't remember it at all.
