Stitch's Great Mistake

If this thread is a microcosm of the like to dislike ratio overall, I predict a short life for stitch! I will try it in september just because I'm one of those people that laughs at those "guy gets hit in groin" shots on Americas funniest home videos.

DS (6 1/2) and I loved the Stitch attraction. DS also wanted to go on it a second time. I guess it is just a matter of taste, but Disney can fit anyone's taste with various rides and attractions.

How many adults have actually seen the movie Lilo and Stitch? Before going on the ride I never did though we have it on DVD for DD12. It wasn't til it was on ABC couple months ago that I saw it. Then I understood the ride. Its based on the beginnings of this movie. Its somewhat stupid but we get a kick out of it. Though I did wish they still could've kept AE. I used to lean as far forward as I could so I didn't feel the hot breath on my neck. I still get the chills thinking about it.

Well I'm still complaining about that lame Pooh ride! I mean, I guess I can see how a Wind and the Willows ride wouldn't be as exciting to kids as Pooh (which is a shame -- aren't people reading their kids that book anymore?????) but if they had to change it, the least they could have done was put some effort into it. It's just so mediocre, at best.

We did the Stitch and the girls were so excited to go on them. The trip prior to the opening they were thrilled to here the Stitch noises outside the construction area. They love Stitch.

Unfortunately, the ride was a big letdown. This, for us, is in the Snow White category. Too lame for adults and two scary for small children. :earsboy:

My ds7.5 is a huge Stitch fan. Are any of your children big Stitch lovers? I hate to have him miss it if he might love it, but if he'd enjoy a trip in the store that I'm sure must be attached at the end of the ride more, maybe we'll skip the ride...

I was disappointed to see that AE was gone last year. Up until actually seeing "Lilo & Stitch", I wasn't sure whether I wanted to go on the new attraction. Now that I've seen the movie, I can't wait to experience the attraction this October.

It seems like most adults hate Stitch, but I found him very funny. From what I've read, if you don't like Stitch, you certainly won't like the attraction.

I wonder...
Kids love Stitch and DH is dead set on riding this... but I have a feeling we will not like it because we loved AE. Seems like that is a treand here, liked AE/dislike Stitch- never rode AE/like Stitch.... We have seen the movie about 100 times, I assumed that was the part the ride was going to do. In fact I remember thinking the AE plot and the opening of Stitch were interestingly similar.

i often think of this with splash mountain... that too could be mediocre if it was just based on the story line...I mean does anyone really know what the story is about( that is even before my time) and i for one can never figure out what the are saying(some of us northenerns don't "get" Louisana(?) twang especially when it echos... someday i will go to the website that has it vebatim and finally know the truth behind splash mountain  ). i enjoy that ride ,think it's cute, good "fear" factor of the hill ect.but am just saying the "Plot" is lost on me on SM...

and i don't even know who stitch is ( alien who landed in Hawaii?????????) so another one i will have to do homework on( hey this is supposed to be vacation...)

my GD loves pooh( the character) but i also thought the ride was so so, if they want to make "tame" rides( as they should espec. for little ones) at least put some real effort into them so everyone really enjoys them

I love Stitch and have seen the movie more than once. Stitch's Great Escape is the worst thing I've ever seen. DH and dsd (12) agree. We rode it once in June and as we were walking out we all had the same look in our eyes. The what the heck was that all about look.

Splash Mountain is based of off "Song of the south" a movie thats not for sale in the US due to racist overtones. It is the movie that gave us Zip-a-dee-doo-da though.

I'd say a good 60% or more of those who go on Splash Mountain have no idea where the plot is from.
