I went on this ride about a month ago and I loved it. So did my best friend, she's 16 (so am I), and my parents. I mean, it's not a masterpiece or a huge thrill, but its not meant to be. What I don't get is why people don't like it. Perhaps they are expecting something more than what they get?

Basically, I think that it's very cute and fun for what it's supposed to be. Sometimes people don't experience the whole attraction because they don't know to lean all the way back (I didn't know that till the day we left!).

Enough of my rant. So here's my question: Did you enjoy Stitch's Great Escape or not? If not, why?

I experienced the original Alien Encounters. I thought that was pretty neat. It will be interesting to see how it was reworked into Stiches Great Escape.

Perhaps they are expecting something more than what they get?

that is exactly the problem. Disney has promo'ed this and hyped it like it's the second coming of sliced bread. When the plans were orginally drawn up by WDI, the bean counters cut over 10 million dollars out of the attraction's development, so Imagineer's were faced with a bad situation - take an old building, change nearly nothing, develop one advanced audio animatronic and were armed with a "do what you can" attitude by management. Management then turned to marketing and said "pump the doodoo out of this". The problem really arose when management determined that the guests are not astute enough to realize how far short this concoction falls short of a 'eticket' - even though management had it marketed that way.

Those in the know, and old enough to how the exacting standards and attention to detail that historically and repeatedly lead Disney into a commanding lead in entertainment realize just what an injustice is done to the character - and what a poor, lame attempt this was/is in comparison to what it could have and should have been. Just another example of how when creativity is not the driving force behind story and show - it fails nearly 100% of the time. :(

Does anyone know if the younger child accompanies you threw the 1st two preshows up until you go into the 'alien' chamber area?? DD2.5 really loves stitch but obviously can't do this ride. I was just wondering if she might be able to see some of it via a parent swap (child swap?) option.

Thanks!

I don't think it's up to Disney standards but we still liked it and would do again. Not every trip though. :wizard: :earboy2: :wave2:

I didn't like it. I think it's because there was so much hype about how much fun it would be and for me, it was the dumbest thing I had ever seen. It just wasn't exciting. I thought I was going to puke when Stitch let out that nasty smell.
This was our first trip to WDW and there were so many promos about how fantastic was. So when I went to WDW and heard about a ride attraction I was hoping for something exciting and great. Yes, I knew I would just be sitting there. But when a new attraction is opening and Disney hypes it up like it's the best thing in the world, I expect something exciting.

We were really looking forward to it and but found the story to be disjointed and the ending never really wrapped things up. It was a lot of time sitting in the dark being burped on by stitch and having him sit on your shoulders. Not much more to it than that. We all left and thought it was pretty lame, and we had all been excited about seeing it.

Too scary for kids, boring for teens, and too incoherent for adults.

It's the attraction with no audience.

N.E.D.

the attraction itself is pretty good. The pre show is excellent.
the issue I have with the show is that it is not much different than Alien Encounter. However when AE first started, it was "new", it was something different: a great scary ride in the Disney tradition.
Stitch's great adventure does not add anything to AE, it just is a refurbished AE.
would I go on it again. Yes absolutely. Would I wait in a line for more than 20minutes: NEVER.
:3dglasses :smooth:

I loved it!! Of course, I love Stitch anyway so I knew I'd like the ride. My hubby liked it too :)
