Has any one taken their little one on this ride? I heard it's nicer than Alien Encounter but I don't want to scary my ds. He rode Pirates of the Carribean and saw Fantasmic with no problems and he loves roller coasters. Any thoughts?

MY dd4 is not afraid of anything but the Stitch Ride freaked her out. She plays hide and seek in the dark basement with her cousins all the time and loves movies like Jurassic Park and for some reason this ride sent her over the edge. I had never seen her afraid of anything before only bugs!!! I had to crawl out from under the shoulder harness to get to her she was so afraid, she still talks about being afraid of it.

Both of my DD's 4 and 7 hated the Stitch attraction, I really do feel it has to do with the harness I think they felt trapped and my little one was super scared

My 7 year old is usually fearless she likes the Dinosaur ride in AK (which scares me LOL) but she really did not like Stitches great escape.

By the way IMHO you won't be missing anything it is not the greatest ride anyway

You also won't miss the stinky smells! DD4 is talking about stitch eating pepperoni pizza!

I agree that you should just skip it. My daughter is 7 and was pretty freaked out. She is normally fearless but the shoulder harness and the darkness were a little too much. I'm just glad that we did it early and didn't have to wait in line as it was a big disappointment.

There's a 38 inch height requirement, if that helps make your decision easier.

Absolutley skip it! Not only did it scare the bejesus out of them, I hated it! I thought it was the worst show I ever saw. I am surprised at Disney for this one. But that is just my opinion. Oh and my kids are 6 & 8.

Another vote to skip it. DS4 got pretty freaked out, and like another poster said, I think it was the harness. At one point it feels like something (I think it wa Stitch - can't remeber) is behind you breathing in your ear and your instinct is to lean forward to get away and you can't because of the harness

I agree with everyone else.....just skip it!!!! The attraction is all in the dark, you just can't figure out what is happening and for that matter even care. My kids 8,10,12 hated it....I think they could do something much better than that!!! I wouldnt even consider bringing my three year old. Thanks for room to vent!!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Thanks guys! That makes it a pretty easy decision. Why add Stitch if you're still going to scare the heck out of the kids? Now, my DS says he wants to ride Tower of Terror!

I actually thought it was cute, but did not take my 3 year old on it. All of the adults liked it though. But we could have done without the burp.

If he is tall enough take him on TOT. My oldest DS rode tower of terror at 3 and youngest DS who was 3 in October rode for the first time on our April trip. He loved it. He also loved Soarin, Test Track, Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain. He hated Stitch and screamed and shook the entire time. Definately a not do for us.

O.K.
I planned to skip the new Stitch ride; I figured it was going to be too scary because Alien Encounter was a little creepy for me. ( Don't like surprises in the dark.) However, my son asked for this ride because he loves Stitch. I told him how Stitch was not nice yet during the ride, about the dark and the harness. I figured that this would discourage him because he is scared of everything; but, no, he was determined to ride.
We rode and he loved it. (I can't emphasize enough what a chicken he is and how much he enjoyed the attraction.)
I believe that if you explain everything in advance and let them make their own decision then it sometime works.
Oh, also I tell him that Mickey makes sure that anyone who follows the rules on the rides will not get hurt and that all "bad guys" have to play nice while they are in his park.

My younger kids loved it!!! DD6, and DS 3 didn't have any problems and went on it twice. I didn't go on it, I went with eldest dd to another ride, but dh said it wasn't too bad.

ALL of us hated it. My wife and I thought that there was nothing to it (Boring). The three kids (8,5,3) hated it. Scared the younger ones. I heard a lot of negative comments about it over the rest of the week. Skip it.

Although the attraction is certainly more smoke and mirrors than scary... the anticipation makes it seem much more so... especially for little ones! I suppose it's like being locked in a carseat in the dark with Stitch running around after us... hmmmmmmmmm... when put that way, it is scary! :earseek:

Stitch was the only attraction that freaked out my kids, 3 and 7. Both loved haunted mansion, pirates, all roller coasters. What is it about Stitch that got them so riled???? We left before the actual ride started...just snuck out the back way and went to buzz Lightyear.

I don't remember Alien Encounter having a harness. I can't imagine my 4 or my 7 year old liking being strapped in the dark with a crazy creature running around. Sometimes I don't know what these imagineers are thinking. Disney is not supposed to cause trauma to kids psyches. Alien Encounter was really cool, but Stitch being in it makes little ones want to go, I'll have to explain the situation to my kids also.
I think we will end up skipping it. You just have to know how your kids will respond and avoid those attractions that can scare the pants off them. JMO.
