Stitch's Great Escape is FUN!! (post if you agree)

I have only been to WDW once, but I thought the attraction was neat. There's nothing like it at Disneyland. However, if I'd been fortunate enough to experience Alien Encounter, I would probably hate Stitch by comparison.

There's another option in the comparison of the two attractions.
(And, it's the one that fits my thinking.)

It's possible to like both versions for their own merits.

And I do!
I remember the first time we did AE and came out thinking "what's all the fuss? It's not really scary at all!" I never understood the hatred.
Now Stitch is my guy! :thumbsup2:cool1: I always have to do Stitch's Great Escape at least a couple of times each trip. It certainly is not frightening by any means--just cute and amusing!:cheer2::dance3:

I think if I knew what to expect before I did it the first time, I would enjoy it more now. However, the first time I "rode" it, I had no idea what it was. Since it had shoulder restraints, I thought it was going to be a thrill ride! I imagined the room spinning or something. Needless to say, it was rather anticlimactic. So I've just considered it lame ever since! Plus the burp smell really grosses me out. :p

Both my husband and I loved it from the start. While it's neither of our 1st choices, it does make the list for when we're in the Tomorrowland area.

Put AE in HS and it's a great attraction! Loved it but thought it was misplaced at MK. I think the "stitch hate" may come from the people (like me) who liked the original.

Personally I think the hate comes from Stitch TP-ing the castle on the attraction's opening day. And then he had the audacity to hang up a banner that said Stitch Kingdom! :furious:
Vandalism should not be tolerated at the Magic Kingdom. Naughty Stitch...

Having done the original ride in that space "Mission To Mars," ANYTHING is better than that one... that was seriously lame.

AE, to me, was scary fun.. I liked it.. but I was in my 30's when I did it, so I knew it wasn't real... I can totally understand the little ones being freaked out. (and anyone who can't stand the dark).

Stitch is almost the same experience as AE, but it's much tamer and it has it's pros and cons as well. I'll do it when I need a break and there's no line.

I think the audio-animatronics are really well done.

We think it's cute, but we are Stitch fans. It'd be a shame for people to miss it just because of the hate of the ride expressed on this board. I wouldn't call it a 'must do', but it's fun and cute.

Disclaimer - I never did AE. I think it was there only during our first trip, if that, and our kids were too young and still young enough that we did things together. Then AE was gone. The description freaked me out though. LOL

My daughter & I rode it for the first time in '09. She hated it! The smells they use are just gross. Honestly I don't remember why I hated it so much I just remember her & I walking out of that ride saying "never again!"
