Stitch is just fine by me, but then I don't like overly scary things. My overactive imagination turns on full force and just... Stitch is just scary enough, not that I was ever on AE, but if the alien there is anything like the one in the Alien section of the Great Movie Ride in HS then glad I missed him. Not sure why Stitch gets so much hate.

Our family loves this ride. My DD was 5 when we first tried it and she thought it was great (and she ended up with a face full of water on that ride). We do this at least once every trip!

My family likes it too! Notice I didn't say "loves". But we enjoy it. My kids were never scared of it at all. They started riding at ages 3 &7. We love Stitch, tho!!

We've only been to WDW 3 times, but we love Stitch. It's fun and cute and fits the movie.

OP - AE is the reason why - at least my reason why - I hate the Stitch ride.

I just keep getting flashbacks of when I was little and absolutely terrified of that ride.

Yes I have been on it since it changed over, and yes it is more "fun" but those are memories that I like to keep locked in a dark secret place never to return.

The only reason I dislike is b/c it smells. That chilli burp is disguating. If I could do the ride with no burp, I'd have no problem. For some reason that smell gets in my nose and doesn't come out for 5 hours.

Our first trip was the year the attraction opened-the monorail said "stitch kingdom"


Stitch was ds' favourite character-and we probably visited the attraction more than 10 times during our vacation.

Exactly...some people just do not like SE. So, OP, it is just you're opinion, like everyone else's. Some people love it, others hate it. It is what it is.
Just because you love it, doesn't mean everyone else will and it definitely wouldn't be a wise choice to insist it isn't scary for kids. Some children would be terrified of the attraction.

It was the scariest thing I ever did! I hated it freaked me out!!

I actually really liked AE, and while I don't HATE Stitch, I'd prefer that AE were still there.

AE was 100X better than Stitch. It was great because it actually was scary, really scary for kids. Then Disney decided to "Disneyfy" it and throw in a new popular Disney character and ruined it. It still can be fun, but it comes off more cheesy than scary now.

I've always loved Stitch and it's a must do. I've done it enough times that I know when the burp is coming ("hey, that's MY chili dog". "yum yum", "burp") and I hold my breath before it happens and let go when I have to and it's all over, so I don't have to worry about that.

I remember Alien Encounter, even before they "watered it down" before they changed it to Stitch, and I never felt like it fit either. But that's just me.

It's not really a favorite of mine, but I never really got the hate for it either. It's a neat little show really, nothing I would wait too long for though. I never did Alien Encounter.

One thing I LOVE about Stitch is the Galactic Anthem played in the preshow. Actually, the preshow is kinda better than the actual attraction.

Im a 23 guy and when my family and I go its always the first ride I want to go on. Its incredibly unique and an all around fun attraction. So many distinguisable moments in the ride that make it memorable.

I wish I had seen this thread before my first trip last year, I'm a huge stitch fan but skipped the ride because I heard it was so bad. Next time...
