Stitch - yuck!

I don't know if we will ride it or not - depends entirely on the wait time!

BUT I will say I didn't care for the movie! I thought it went it too many directions without developing a plot. Stitch isn't supposed to be cuddly - he just sort of pretended to be so he could go with Lilo to avoid capture. And the story line with Lilo and the dead parents and the social worker was just hideous! Then the other girls are mean to Lilo - too many issues! I walked out of the movie not knowing how I was supposed to feel about the characters! It doesn't surprise me that the ride doesn't have a plot - the MOVIE didn't have a plot!

DS8 would probably like the ride because he is a typical boy. He doesn't love Lilo and Stitch but he will watch it if it happens to be on. We'll see what the line looks like, but I won't waste a lot of time trying to get in!

My family loves the character Stitch. My son watches the movie all the time and we will be there in May. We will definatly give it a try though, my son would die if we passed it up. So I will have to wait to give my opinion of it. But my hopes are high.

After reading all of the negative posts about the Stitch attraction, I can't help to think that all the bad press is going to sway me to like it. It's kind like when people say that there's this incredible movie that everyone must see, it changed their life or was so great (like Titantic) and when I saw it, I thought it was OK, but not this incredible earth shattering event. It was set up to fail in my mind. I haven't been to the parks since July, and we're going next month, but with all of the negative comments and all the smack being posted about the attraction, my hopes are so low, I can't be disappointed.

I wasn't going to do it on my recent trip but my DD said we had to. It can't possibly be as bad as everyone said it was. Well it was- even worse. Never again for me. I was actually in pain from the shoulder restraints and was never so glad to be out of a place.

Are the shoulder "restraints" any different than when the attraction was Alien Encounter?

Wow, I think that is a weird way of looking at things.
If it is Disney, does that mean it is not supposed to have any realism that real people can relate to? Children's parents die all of the time. Don't think this is realisitic? My very dear friend since Jr High lost her mom (having no dad) when she was only 17 and raised her younger brother herself. She had to be very responsible, which she was, and raise her brother, wisely use the funds she received from her mother's death to pay bills and finish high school until she could get a full-time job in order to keep their home happy and safe from a social worker taking her brother away from her and placing him in a foster home. Kids, like the girls in the movie, they are really mean. Yes, sad but true. Especially girls. Young girls are very mean. Sisters fight like Lilo and Nani did. The only thing about the movie that was unreal was the whole alien thing.

Sure the story had a plot!? Why do you say it had no plot? Several things were going on.
1. Lilo and her sister worked out their issues and later Nani had a boyfriend (or so we are meant to believe) that was there for both of them.
2. Stitch was mean and bad and turned out to be good and learned that there was a greater purpose for him than destruction.
3. Lilo was "lost" and "reaching out" and Stitch brought her what she needed to let go of a lot of her bitterness and move on.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion about the movie; I would never deny you that. There are movies that I think are stupid that others like. (I will admit, these are movies like Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura and so on.) (I guess you can see I am no Jim Carey fan) I have no doubt from what I have read that the ride has no plot and bites, but I think that you missed the point from the actual movie.

I think in general, people have this perception that it should be all pink elephants, balloons, merry-go-rounds, cotton candy, hearts and butterflies if it is Disney, but a little realism is good. Other than Pooh, nearly every Disney movies has something bad happen and evil characters.

The Stitch ride is awful! And they are hyping the billy bejeezus out of it. There are Stitch ad magnets on various monorails, a huge blow-up Stitch complete with a Santa hat at the TTC - enough to make you loose your breakfast, lunch or dinner, and Stitch apparel in every concievable manner. Stitch is like dog#@$#% - its everywhere!

Please don't flame me, I've had several toddies and am quite incendiary!

I just came back from a week at WDW, and one other place they've thrown Stitch at you is that now HE's your wake-up call. Every morning I had a wake up call, hoping for Mickey to tell me to get "Up and at 'em, Pal". I've always loved that. But no, instead I got Stitch every morning, and Mickey's voice apologizing about Stitch being let loose in the MK. My silent protest to this (Hey, I told you I really loved Mickey's wake-up call) was to avoid the attraction.

My wife and kids never wanted to see Alien Encounter because of the "scare factor" (I did it once and laughed through most of it), but they were all willing to see Stitch on our recent trip.

Well, I think that was probably the one and only time we'll be seeing Stitch. Everyone was extremely disappointed. My 8 year old DS did enjoy the spitting, but aside from that, we all left feeling "that's it????"

We only had a 10 minute wait before seeing it, but in the several days preceding New Year's, the standby wait was approaching 1 hour. I'm just thankful I didn't invest that much time into it.

I was a big AE fan, when it first came out it was unique and edgy, and if the stories are right i'm glad Eisner pushed to make it scarier. Later it seemed to get toned down or just need revamping again but was still great.

I have been on Stich, and it was ok, but lacking. I'm sure it's target was younger boys as has been said. Some seemed to like it, but i didn't hear the "wow"'s or "holy c***" like you did after AE

I don't think you need to be a fan of a movie, or even have a movie like AE, to have a great ride. I just hope Disney continues to mix things up, and not go to much for one group with new rides, such as thrill rides or childrens rides.

No, I agree that someone is always being killed, bullied, brutalized, etc. in the Disney movies! My problem with Lilo isn't the themes, it is the way the themes are poorly presented and developed. They couldn't seem to pick a direction so they were all over the place.

Nemo's mom and siblings are all devoured in the first five minutes, Snow White is chased away be the Evil Queen and then is poisoned, Esma tries to poison Kuzco. But I was able to follow those stories just fine! I just felt like Lilo & Stitch wasn't a great story. The ideas were good, the presentation was lacking.

We were also disappointed by the Stitch attraction. We all really like Stitch, especially DS, and were looking forward to the new Stitch Great Escape. I thought the preshow and the first part of the show were ok, when you see Stitch and right before he "escapes". But after that, it just seemed like a random sequence of smells and squirts. We also left the attraction saying, "That's it?"

I'm glad we did it once, but probably won't line up to go on it again unless they revamp it. However, we still like Stitch!

I think the Stitch attraction (I wouldn't call it a ride) stinks like a rotten chili dog! That being said, if there is not really a wait time I think people should at least see it once and judge for themselves. After all I never listen to anyone that tells me not to see a certain movie because it stinks, I like to make up my own mind. And if your kids want to see it I don't think it's fair to not let them see it at least once. Odds are they'll probably never want to see it again either. IMO

We really thought the Stitch ride was a waste, so far below usual Imagineering. If you hadnt seen AE you might like it a little better since it is practically AE with minute changes. I cant see how it took over a year to do it.

Well we finally made it to Stitch's place yesterday and I would have to agree with most, it was bad. It seems to be a week version of the Alien Encounter without any excitement. I hope this won't be here very long because to me it is just taking up space!
