Stitch encounter

I was just wondering what everyone has heard about Disney replacing Alien Encounter with Stitch Encounter. We are going early December and wanted to know if it would be open by then, and also if it is appropriate for a 4 year old.

From what I understand, the change is going to be pretty extensive and won't be completed for a year or so. Disney hasn't even started the process yet and hasn't announced the change officially. They are making the attraction more kid friendly, as well as lowering the height restriction. Screamscape.com has some great information on the transformation.

I'm all for a change. AE is just lame. I will miss Skippy though, he's awefully cute. Mickey

Alien Encounter is still open, but there could be a rehab announced at some point to do the switch to Stitch. But I don't think anyone knows yet when that will be.

Latest I saw on Screamscape is that the shutdown may come in November. Some reports have said 10 weeks, others 10 months. Depends on how extensive the changes are. If they just switch Stitch for the alien and put in a new film, it probably wouldn't take too long.

But if it hasn't been switched yet, you sure don't want to take your 4-yr old on it.
