My sister just called me. She was in a car accident last night. She slid on some black ice, hit the wall of the expressway, starting spinning out of control, the airbags deployed, and she ended up in a ditch. My sister and niece walked away from the accident unharmed. Her ex-husband picked them up and they left the car. They are going back for it now.

My sister was supposed to watch Abby for us last night while we were in Vegas. Abby would have been in the car with her. So, things keep happening and DH and I are like, "Good thing we didn't go to Vegas!"

Not as serious, but still a pain, DH is on the phone with his sister right now b/c it is 57 in their house and their heat is not working. He's trying to walk her through things to try to get it going. She's got 4 little kids so they need heat.

I'm telling you, someone didn't want us to go away this weekend!

Thank God they're okay. That would've been terrible if Abby had been with them.

ABSOLUTELY everything happens for a reason. Glad to hear everyone in the car is ok.

Thanks for the tip on 6pm.com . I'm going to check them out in a little while when I get back from the store . I'm on my way to return DH's christmas presents, (you know, the stuff he already bought )

Hey girls!

Whew! We went shopping all day long. Craziness! Everywhere was packed. We bought lots of stuff though. Old Navy was having a pretty good sale. They had fleece jackets & vests for $5 each!

Jordan - We got Mario Kart. Haven't played it yet, but plan to, maybe tonight! Did you get yours?

Macy's was also having a huge sale. I got a coat for myself. DH got a couple of shirts and ties. He doesn't have to wear them for work so apparently he feels the need to buy them for weddings, wakes, and funerals. Why he needs a million shirts & ties is beyond me.

Thanks for the well wishes. I saw my sister today. She is very upset. I'm worried about her. She just can't catch a break. The car is going to be totalled. It is not worth the money to fix it so she has no car. She only had liability insurance so she's out of luck there. They had to pay $250 to get it out of the tow yard. When she went back for the car today, it was gone. The state took it. There was a 3 car pile up in the same spot. She drove past it today and they were prying people out of their cars. The tow driver said there was a sheet of ice there. She doesn't know what she is going to do b/c she has no money at all, no credit, nothing.

I keep telling to be thankful no one was hurt and she is, but she doesn't know what to do. I don't know if you remember or not, but in Sept, her entire building flooded from all the rain we got. She had to evacuate for 2 weeks after she just moved into that apartment. Now, she has a crazy lady living upstairs from her leaving her notes. The lady is nuts. And her computer is dead (today), won't even boot up. DH tried to look at it and couldn't do anything.

I feel so bad for her, but I don't know what I can do for her. I guess I can buy her a used car. I'm not sure DH will be happy about that, but I can't do nothing. She feels terrible b/c she can't buy X-mas gifts for anyone. I told her no one is expecting gifts.

Hopefully, things can only get better for her. I don't think they can get any worse!

We're not travelling for Christmas. We went about two hours away to one of my aunt's houses last weekend for that Christmas. Christmas eve we're going about 25 minutes to the other aunt's house. For some reason my parent's families don't do anything together.

On Christmas eve we as in Kaeleb & I are going to make some yummy apps. and play the Wii and watch a Christmas Story!! (I love that crazy movie)

DH and I played it after DD went to bed last night. We are evil parents, aren't we? I need to read the book to figure out how to play. I kind of stunk at it last night, but had no idea what I was doing. It was fun though, even though I stunk..........

YUM! Prime rib! That is what we are having on X-mas Eve. We are going to my SIL's house which is a whole 10 minutes away. YAHOO! She makes Prime Rib every year. X-mas Day - I hope to stay home and relax and do nothing. I doubt that will happen though. Other SIL invited us to her house. We will see her X-mas Eve so I'm hoping I can talk DH into staying home.

Uh - oh, does that mean no football game for you? How much snow did you guys get? We didn't get as much as they were saying. I'd say we have about 6 inches. It is BBRRRR freezing outside though........

We aren't travelling for Christmas. My sister and BIL drove down yesterday from Midland MI (about 100 miles away). They only stayed a few hours. My MIL and her husband are coming over on Christmas Eve so maybe I'll cook a prime rib too.

How do you guys cook your prime rib? I order it in restuarants but I've never made one myself. I may try that this Christmas. I'm so sick of Ham! I don't care if I never see another ham again (well, right now anyway).

I looked at foodtvdotcom or allrecipesdotcom they both have really good recipes fro prime rib. Doofus' (i just like calling him that now...its almost as funny as bb or brown bathroom ) his sister is going to make it. She is making med and then depending on how well done you want it, she or I will dunk it in au jus just like they do any where else.
But ours is going to have a rub of montreal steak seasoning & sea salt.

Its all over all of the local news stations here. Hopefully that will help them get those pets adopted. I just e-mailed my husband and told him if he still wants another puppy that we need to go and get it from this shelter TODAY!
