Can someone explain to me what this is? I kind of get from pictures that adults are able to stand up in the water at Stingray City. Are children able to? DS is 44'' , would he be able to stand up by himself there?

Also, how is the Capt Marvin boats? Do they have a bathroom? If we take a snorkling trip to Stingray City, can my mother and DD(1) stay on the boat and watch? Would I be able to take my DD in the water with me and hold her for a minute or two?

Also, I understand if we don't show up, we will lose our money. Has the Magic ever not been able to tender at GC in the end of April?

Thanks for ALL your help here!!!

Captain Marvin's was great~check out my tag! You take a boat out to the sandbar. They give you lifejackets if you need them and then you exit the boat to walk the sandbar and touch the stingrays if you wish. They will be all over the place~I ended up back on the boat a lot earlier than my kids! There is a bathroom and they do have jugs of water and juice for you to drink. There is someone on board who will take a video and then you can watch it on your trip back, we purchased ours it was great. The water as about waist deep for us adults.

If the ship can't tender you in, I do believe that Captain Marvin's won't charge you in this case. Go to their website and you can read all about it and make your reservations right there.

We have just booked the sotos cruises stingray trip and they just took our credit card number and we pay cash of travellers cheque on the day. If you cannot dock then they do not charge but if you just do not bother to turn up as you have changed your mind the charge is 50% which I think if fair.

Do they sell out quickly? I'm hoping to hear back from them soon. Thanks again.

If capt. Marvin's books up, you can always use NativeWay watersports. They go to the same places, and my family was very happy with them.

Just thought of another question......how do we get there after tendering? Do we walk, take a cab or do they pick us up at the cruise terminal? Is there a place we can leave DD's stroller? (We were thinking about maybe bringing it along in case we decide to walk around after the excursion) Thanks!

It is walking distance, not sure where you would leave the stroller though. My 4 year old went and had a blast i nthe water, she had her lifevest on so even where the water was to high for her with the stingrays she just floated around. We had reservations on a later boat but we got there very early so they said no problem to move us to the earlier boat, they were really nice.
