Stimulating appetite

You're not alone. DH and I lose our appetite in the heat. And DH's stomach is messed up anyway with his hunger signals (he'll go from not hungry don't talk about food to STARVING and throwing a tantrum in the blink of an eye), and when his blood sugar goes low it's not fun for anyone. WDW makes it easier b/c we generally have a TS each day already planned so food is on my mind (or, rather, getting to the reservation). At Disneyland it's harder because I rarely have a TS planned and it's easier to go, oh, 9 hours without remembering to eat. (true story) (figured it out when the 5 and 37 year old guys in my family were having a huge and ridiculous argument in Tomorrowland, and it suddenly dawned on me that no one had eaten since lunch and it was full-on nighttime)

Now now, you should never have been sprinting. No running; just walking with purpose! We haven't slowed down any since FP+. I am not a saunterer by nature!

Yikes. Eat if you're hungry, dive.
Trust me I eat and notice I said 1 bite is left on my plate. Sometimes I get very creative with that one bite, it might be the parsley sprig but it's not an empty plate.

Ok, so this may be a really bizarre post for some, but here goes. For months, leading up to our trip, I look at food pictures, make my must-try lists, and go over menus for all our ADR's. Basically, food is a big part of our trip. I consider DF and I "foodies", and we go out to eat pretty often at home. Then, we go to Disney, and I don't know if it's the heat, or walking, or what, but suddenly I'm not that hungry. I'm not in the mood for anything. All the unique and interesting snacks and meals I had planned, don't look appetizing to me anymore. Last trip, I mostly stuck to pretzels, and barely ate at our TS meals. Does this happen to anyone else? Any tips? I thought from all the walking, I'd be famished, but not at all.
Three thoughts pop into my head:

1.) The heat.
2.) Head-rattling from the extreme rides.
3.) Snacking between meals more than you might normally do.

Each of these can cause you to feel less hungry than you might typically experience.

Also, if you are a real 'foodie' who happens to live in a place with great repast, then Disney just might not meet your expectations and keeps you less inclined to saying, "Oooooooo!"

Finally, if you are expending so much energy beyond your normal routine (as most all of us do), then it's possible that using those 'core muscles' is suppressing your appetite because your stomach is tightening from the workout.

1) Scientifically, it is the heat.
2) That is why restaurants are kept so cold at Disney and many other eateries.
3) When hot, people eat less - yes, a truly biological thing.
4) If you really want to feel like eating more, 20-25 minute before you are ready to have a meal
. . . get to into Air Conditioning
. . . sit a relax (eg. sit in the hotel lobby and people-watch for a while prior to an ADR at a resort)
5) Your body will start to adjust, and you will want to eat more than if you just walked in and sat down at the table.

NOTE: As a major owner in two restaurants, we get all sorts of hints and investigation/study results through the various restaurant associations. This includes everything from recommended room temperature to menu design to room layout. Restaurants and bars are truly becoming more scientific. They have evolved far beyond just buying tables and putting out an "Open" sign.
