Still waiting to close..............UPDATE!!!another update!

We were suppose to close our OKW resale on 10/16. We never recieved the email from the Closing company because they had our old email. WE finally called and had the info faxed to us. We had to hold off a few days because with the late notice and I had to transfer funds (cash deal) I could not get the money from the bank and get it to Orlando fast enough.

Now they have had all the infor for more than one week. I have called 2 times. They say that they are now waiting for the seller to send in her paperwork!!!!!?????? I was suppose to get a return call from the closing company on friday but never did.......

The contract is a June use year and I want to make ressies (we are trying to plan to take another family with us) and bank some points!! I don't want to borrow from my other contract needlessly!!

Has anyone experienced this??? DH is getting ready just to ask for a refund and buy another Timeshare elsewhere!!!!

I never recieved a call back on Friday or again on Monday like the closing company has said. I just got off the phone with the closing company again and the man I talked to (who said he doesn't work in that department) had no further information for me. I am nervous and feel I am being scammed now. They have nearly 20K in CASH from us and we are not getting any answers. DH wants our money back!!!

Has anyone else had a bad experience like this before?????? I am not happy and will never do this again!!!

Someone FINALLY called back and talked to my DH!! That person said we should be closing by the end of the week...............if not, I will be so angry.....We are trying to make plans to take family who's is close to us on a surprise trip, she is going thru chemo and want to book when she is finished!!! It is just frustrating not to get answers or even the common courtesy of a return phone call when they said they would..............

We know how you feel. The whole process seems a bit bizarre. The broker says one thing, the closing company another, then they do exactly what they said they wouldn't do. Very confusing.
We got a letter last week saying we had closed on the 16th. It came as a surprise to us because our closing was scheduled for the 31st and they didn't even have our signed papers until the 20th.
We leave on vacation (not to WDW) on Wednesday and had hoped to be able to make reservations for our first trip home in June before we go. But I don't know if we'll be able to.
The whole thing is confusing and frustrating. We just keep telling ourselves that after this yr everything will go more smoothly in the future.

We're in the process of closing now. I'm a bit worried by how clueless they seemed when I called to verify receipt of an address correction. Which closing company are you working with?

Clueless, yes!!! I have talked to about 3 different people, 3 different times. The last response was that she would call me back that afternoon............that was last friday....still waiting!!

The closing company is the Timeshare Closing Services......

My first OKW resale was so smooth.............this is far from it!!

I called again today and told the women that I was suppose to get a call back on Friday about the status of my closing. Her reply was that she was "off" on Friday!!! Then she asked me what I wanted to know......my reply was "The status of my closing"(didn't I just say that!!!?!?!?!?).

Her response, "I will call you back later, we are waiting for the seller's papers".....................still waiting for that call!!!

The original date of the closing was suppose to be Oct. 16!!!

DH is ready just to get his money back. I am trying not to think that I was just "taken" but it is crossing my mind!! This is a cash deal too!!! The closing company has all of our cash..............!

My last resale was smooth thanks to Shontell. With that one we researched the Timeshare Store etc and all came up clean. That was 3 years ago. Could things have changed? Could I have been taken on this one??????

I had trouble also. Took close to 4 months for my deal to close. And on top of that, I was buying from a couple in Canada, declaring bancruptcy. Now don't you think someone should have told me that before I received the final paperwork??? When I would call I was told "Oh, you still haven't closed??". And when I finally closed, come to find out the point balance that was quoted was wrong - actually had more points. Instead of 37 had 54 banked points. But I realized that could have went the other way.

I don't think I would buy from the Timeshare Store again.

I NEVER recieved my call back yesterday and now DH is looking into another timeshare (not DVC!!!)..................

I think I'd call The Timeshare Store and ask to speak with some sort of Manager....That is terrible service...

I have close with both Disney and "Timeshare". They both worked. However, I always felt more comfortable with Disney and did not feel the savings from a resale was worth the doubt. Especially, when you get $10.00 rebate on points and no closing closes. Next time buy direct from Disney. Do not give up. Stay on top of the situation because nothing beats "DVC".

Trouble is that all resorts and use years are not available through Disney. We are waiting on ROFR for a BWV add-on through Timeshare Store. I can only hope that we do not have all this hassle. Ironic that Timeshare Store is a DIS sponsor and is getting some pretty bad PR on this board.

I have not had any problems with the Timeshare Store. It is the Timeshare Closing Services where the problem lies. I believe they are separate!!

I will let you all know when we finally close............appears to be close to one month after our original closing date!!!

We used The Timeshare Store and Timeshare Closing Services for our resale that closed in August. Everything went very smoothly and they always either answered our questions or returned calls promptly. I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. Maybe the problem is with the seller not returning papers. I would call Timeshare Closing Services and explain the situation.... I'm sure they will get to the bottom of it. Good luck!

They are waiting for the seller to return closing papers. Just like they would have been waiting for us to. They had our OLD email address from our first resale and never bothered to update the file or even ask if all the information was correct.

The only response I get from them was that they had to "send back the papers to the seller". I am sure she is eager to close also........I would be knowing I would have nearly 20K in my pocket soon!!!

My first closing was smooth as silk.......................that's why we opted to do it again...........

If it doesn't close soon and I lose my banking deadline(11/30) I will be extremely upset!!!!

This is terrible Rosemary. I can't blame you for being anxious. That's a lot of money at stake.

I'm assuming that the Timeshare Store uses this closing service. I would make them aware of the problem.

While not the usual, this is a risk of a resale. You are dependent on the seller who could even back out at this late date. If there is a bankruptcy, lien or even a reluctant spouse, this might take a while longer. Good luck, I hope it works out.

I used the timeshare store on my resale, they were great, but they arn't hand holders, I did have to call a few times, but no big deal, we too paid cash, we used Timeshare Closing Services on 2 purchases and one sale, they were great, no problems, and everything was done in a timely manner, sounds like the seller is dragging their feet on this one. If it has gone to closing, I think it is out of the Timeshare Stores hands, but I would ask them to contact the seller and ask if there is a problem.
