where do you keep the big toys in your house? the large cars, the Leap Frog, the busses, all that type of stuff...my kids share a room so I'm trying to make it all functional in one room - no place for a playroom....

We're in the same boat, here. After Christmas, we organized the toy room & the boys rooms. We still don't have a place for all the big items like trucks, Little People houses, car tracks, etc. I have a bunch of shelves w/ bins, but none of the bins are big enough for those things.

I really don't want to go the big Rubbermaid bin route, but it may be our only option...

We have two closets in our playroom and all our toys still don't fit in. Some of the big things go in the big rubbermaid bins and in the closet and some just sit nicely on the floor along the wall. One closet has 3 shelves in it and the other only has 1 (plus a clothes rack). Well, we actually don't need the room for the clothes so I'm going to add more shelves. That will help a lot. In fact, I really need to add shelves to all my closets to make them more usable. It's just a matter of getting around to it.

We have no basement or playroom so our dining room has become the playroom. I just try to keep it organized looking. Fortunately, we have a big kitchen so we never use the dining room anyway, but someday I'd like to add on a big family/playroom. I don't keep much in her bedroom b/c I don't like her playing upstairs alone when I am downstairs.

That's what we did, too - converted the dining room to a toy room.

I have cubbies in DS's room that houses all the Little People stuff. I got the cubbies at Ikea awhile ago, and can't find them on their website now. I did find these, which they've had for awhile and I'd like to get someday. They have the bins in different colors, and with lids. They also used to sell baskets that fit, but I don't know if those are still available.
