Still trying to get a DISH DVR

I have had live-chats and called DISH about getting a DVR and have gotten more than one answer.

The last phone call I was told I could get a DVR Dual Tuner Receiver for only an extra $5 per month. No installation charge. Just $5 extra per month.

Does this sound right? I don't want to get one installed and my monthly bill goes up more than what I was told. Thanks!!!

I don't know the answer to your pricing question, but one thing I do know you should check on is whether this change to your service increases (or incurs) a service commitment. On many of the satellite threads I read, I see reports that every time they make a change their (typically two years) service commitment restarts.

When I had dish, I had to pay 5$ a month for the DVR 'service'.

I pay $5 a month for the DVR Service but the package itself must be a DVR package I believe.

Still have to pay the $5 per month and have a package I believe. We were new customers and got ours for free, but still pay to use it. Since you are current customers I think they make you buy it. I could be wrong. So, buying someone elses may be worth it. It just stinks that you have gotten so many answers from them when you call and ask!

We recently upgraded to the DVR with DISH.

We replaced our 2 recievers with the DVR, so we actually broke even, since we paid $5 for the service to the 2nd reciever.

We did have to agree to a new 2 year contract, but we kept our same package.

I have to say.... I don't know how I ever watched TV with out it.

We were new customers in July 2008, so only 13 months and we had to buy it. They made us buy all our receivers.
