Still Sassy after all this time!

Howdy, Sassies! Did everyone have a great 4th? We had a blast with some friends of ours and best of all, it was at their house so I didn't have to clean.:thumbsup2 We are halfway done with swim season now and Regionals are coming up this weekend. Then there is one more meet for Barney's year-round team and two more meets for the summer league and then we can relax and sleep in in the morning!:thumbsup2

I was summoned for 6 months of on-call jury duty a few days ago. Hopefully, they will grant my request to be excused because I have no one to watch BamBam in the afternoons if I am in court. Poor little dude!

Tricia - Visiting colleges is exciting, isn't it? I remember that time well. I hope you all are enjoying the process!

Bonnie - how was your weekend with the new dude?

Angie - How was your 4th? Did you end up grilling steaks, and did you share with the pups? No? Wally is threatening to call the humane society on that one.

Shannon - Hooray for the new abode! Have you posted pictures yet?

Hi Becca, Judi and Mel! What's up with all of you?

Wally is fully recovered and happy as a clam with his new "status". He's learning to run to his crate and sit down whenever the doorbell rings. That Pavlov really had something, didn't he?

Who's going to see Harry Potter?

Good Morning Sassies.

Well today is Senior Picture day. Kelsie gets to smile pretty and I get to go broke in the process. :lmao:

Wilma I bet you must really be looking forward to sleeping later than 5:00. It look me a good week or two when summer started for me to sleep past that time because of waking up for the entire school year. My body just wouldn't let me sleep past that early morning hour. Fortunately I have over come that and now sleep until 6:30 or 7:00 every day.:thumbsup2

Shannon I'm glad you are getting settled in your new house and love your new neighbors. Are all the boxes unpacked yet?

Angie are you still seeing your MIL every day? How's that going?

Becca did you go camping for the 4th?

Judi did you enjoy your 4th? Was this the weekend of the camperless camping?
Hi Julie, Bonnie and Mel.

Good morning Sassies! We are finally having some beautiful weather and have been out enjoying it.

We went camping for the 4th. We have just been keeping our camper at my dad's he has full hookups for us, 40 acres and a private lake that the boys can fish and swim in. There is a fawn that still has spots that wanders through his field and it was so cute to watch everyday.

Brendan is going to the UP with my dad, brother and some nephews on Sunday for 4 nights. I don't like him going away for so many nights, but I know he will have fun.

Tricia, I loved doing college tours! Its so hard to choose. In my first dorm I had to walk down the hall to the bathroom, yuck! Senior pictures will be fun though.

Shannon, so glad you are enjoying your new house and you love your neighbors. We moved from a neighborhood where we didn't know most of our neighbors to a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone and we even have neighborhood picnics. We need some pictures of the new digs!

Wilma, we only have 3 weeks of swimming left. At least its not at ungodly hours like Barney's.

Hi Judi, Bonnie, Angie, Meli, Julie, Squiddy and all the other Sassies!

TGIF! This week seemed to go by very fast for us. I think it was just a very busy week. I got Kelsie's proofs back yesterday. They took fourteen pictures and we actually agreed on which ones we liked best. I can order up to four poses but I think we'll just do the two we really like. One of the cap and gown and the other in the drape.

Any big weekend plans? We don't have anything going on except Kelsie has work. Other than that we're open.

We're always so late seeing movies. I always have good intentions of going to the theater but some how we never get there. Anyway, we just rented Sisters of the Traveling Pants and Transformer. I loved the pants movie and just rented the second one which we'll watch today. The kids want to go see Transformer II so we rented the first one so we would know what's going on. I actually liked that movie which I didn't think I would.

I miss you all so please come back. :flower3:

Hi everyone!

Where do the days go?:confused3 We're mostly unpacked, but not organized. As usual, my room has yet to be tackled. Granted, our furniture won't arrive for 4 or so more weeks, so there are going to be boxes for a while. As soon as I locate my camera cord I will post pics.

Off to organize Reece's room, as he has a friend from the old 'hood coming over for a couple of days.

Judi, what have you been up to? I miss your hunky pictures!

Wilma! Jury duty?!?! I'm all for doing my civic duty, but on-call for 6 months seems extreme. When do you find out if you're excused?

Mel, hope things calm down a bit at work! What did you end up doing for the 4th?

Tricia-- So glad the college visits & pictures went well. It's a testament to the relationship you have with Kelsie!:thumbsup2 Both of those events are often prime fighting times for parents & teens. I know this because my first year out of high school I worked in a photography studio. I dreaded the days that parents & their teens came in to look at proofs or place orders.
Also, I used to give campus tours at OSU, and let me tell ya, it was rare to have parents & the kids on the same wavelength.

Becca-- yay for summer finally catching up with you! And, your Dad's land sounds amazing! And yes, I think we're going to love our new neighborhood. I'm looking forward to finishing up the unpacking/cleaning so we can hang outdoors more, to meet people. Reece is nervous about starting middle school and not knowing anyone.

Hi Bonnie, Angus, Kimmy, Julie, Squid, and everyone else!

Hey Tricia! I'm visiting my friend and her 3 mo. old in NJ, but wanted to give you a heads-up. Mav and I saw Transformers II and it was good (I even thought so) but there were several things that were not appropriate for kids. Mav thought they were funny, but they didn't need to be in there. So keep that in mind.

Thanks for the heads up Julie. The first one was very appropriate for Colin who is nine so I thought the second one would be too. It looks like I won't be taking the kids to see it after all. I'll add that one to the list of movies to rent.

Happy Saturday everyone.

Hi Sassies!

Tricia, I'm going to agree with Julie. There was much more than needed to be in the second one. Although my boys both loved it just as much if not more.

Shannon, fnd that camera cord! I want to see the new place.

Hi to all the other Sassies! I'm off to pick up Brendan from a camping trip with a friend to get him ready to head off tomorrow morning. Plus the big mall is near where we have to pick him up so a side trip is in order.

Have a great weekend!

Hello to all my sassy friends (where ever you are).

I've been having some computer problems lately. It has to do with Internet Explorer 8 and it won't let me uninstall it. :confused3 Mark's been looking at getting a lap top so we'll have a second computer because school starts back for us on August 7th. Two of my three kids do homework on it so we really can't be without one. I know getting a second computer would be nice but I still want to get this one fixed.

Hi everyobody!! Hope you're all having great summers. Nothing going on with me but the same old same old.

I'm SO excited for The Half-Blood Prince!! Anyone going to the midnight showings tonight? We'll probably go this weekend and then go again on 7/29 when they release the Imax 3D version.

Hi Sassies! How is everyone? I really miss talking to you girls. It's my own dang fault for being such a slacker!

Brent still has no job, we are still broke. I am dating; in fact, this weekend my college prof. friend (the one that came here about a month ago to see me) is flying me to NYC. It'll be my first trip there! I'm excited. Not sure what we will do, he said I could choose but so far I haven't really looked into it.

Summer Camp is going well...we have a huge class (35 kids) but they are good. And the field trips and pool trips have been fun. It's nice to get out of the school and go do things. Wish we could do that during the school year, too!

How's everyone's summer going?

Heck yeah! I'm totally going to the midnight showing, but I thought it didn't start until Thursday night? Does it start tonight? :goodvibes I am gonna do the same thing, Angus...I gotta see the 3D version too. I loved the last one in 3D; too bad it was only for the fight sequence.

Hi Sassies! Long time no see. Sorry, have just been dealing with real life issues and a broken heart. However, I have decided to give up on men and just focus on Bonnie from now on!

I have already purchased my tickets for HP and can't wait!

Hope everyone is doing well - I admit I didn't read back.

Bonnie-it starts tonight at midnight tonight (well really tomorrow morning if you want to be technical). Since I have to get up at 4:30 for work and I'm WAY too old to pull an all-nighter I will NOT be partaking of the showings tonight and alas will have to wait for this weekend.

YAY! Some Sassies are back in action!

Still getting the house in order. Had a friend & her three boys (all of whom are very rambunctious) over today, so my house took several steps back in the clean department. Oh well... Riley went to bed early with a fever. He turned down pizza for dinner, so I KNOW he isn't feeling well!

Off to have movie night with Reece, as Ryan is out of town for work, and Reece gets sad when dad travels.

Bex- Power washers came to clean the house today (lots of bugs & cobwebs= not pretty pics) so I'll get some pictures up tomorrow. Hope your weather is still hanging in there. Did Brendan have a good time on his trip?

Tricia-- Hope you get your 'puter issues resolved!

Angus! Miss you lady! I am excited about the movie too, but we'll probably wait until it comes out in 3D. Ryan is traveling for the next 1.5 weeks anyway, & he'd kill us if we saw it without him.

Bonn, sorry to hear about the continuing lack of jobbage for Brent. But, I hope you have fun in NYC! I've never been... Maybe when you get back you can come check out my new digs.

Squid-- Who's the lout who broke your heart? Let me at 'em! He'll never know what hit him.

Morning Sassies!

Well I've got the Geek Squad coming out on Wednesday to hopefully fix all my computer issues. At least I'm still able to sign on because that's real iffy sometimes.

Bonnie I've never been to NYC. Have fun and fill us in on all the touristy things yall do.

Kendall is leaving tomorrow for Cheer Camp so today I'll be running around trying to get everything that she needs to go. Have a great day my friends.

TGIF ladies!

Tricia, did you get Kendall off to camp ok? I'm sure she was excited. Hope your Geeks fixed the computer!

What are everyone's weekend plans? I have book club tonight (meeting at On the Border-- yum!) However, it will probably be my last meeting with this group. It's near my old house, and will take me over an hour in traffic to get there. Saturday the in-laws are coming by for lunch, but other than that, it will be Yard Work City!

Love this house, but MAN did the old owner's let the yard go to pot. It's 5 years old, and I swear to you, they did not touch a single bush/shrub/tree since they were planted.

We may squeak in the new Harry Potter movie, though Bon said it was a bit disappointing. Did anyone else see it? Opinions please!

I liked it - I was surprised at how many times I laughed. The whole teenage romance/angst thing really amused me given that is how I am feeling these days. The ending wasn't true to the book though which really threw me because the film ending just didn't make sense the way the book did.

Have fun!

Sorry to hear about your roller coaster love-life these days. I think you're due for at LEAST a 25 year upswing, no?:thumbsup2

I'm sure I'll like the movie, even if it's not exactly true to the book.

Oh, and everyone, we forgot to wish Meli a happy bday on July 10th.

SORRY MEL!!!!:sad2:

Hope you had a fabulous bday!!

:wave2:

Happy
